5.0 out of 5 stars "The Confident Woman" changed my way of thinking!, August 18, 1998
By A Customer
This book totally changed my way of thinking! Anabel describes how we are all programmed to think a certain way about ourselves by how others treat us and what others say to us. She outlines several scriptures that hold the truth about who we really are! You can sense that Anabel has a very tender heart and she seems to try her best to speak truth without offending anyone. This is such a great book, I'm buying a case just to give to my friends and family. In my opinion, every woman (these days) will find great benefit in reading this wonderful book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very practical book, October 3, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Confident Woman: Knowing Who You Are in Christ (Paperback)
Anabel practices what she teaches. I used to attend Bible studies in her home when I was in college. She writes from her own experience. She tells the truth about each of us (from God's perspective!) and spells out how to live in victory. You can't get much more practical than this book. Really useful!

Our church did a woman's bible study on this book a few years back. I gave my copy away to a friend in need, who is now long gone. I want another copy to use for reference. It was a valuable tool used to renew my mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reminding me who I am in Christ, September 7, 2008
This review is from: The Confident Woman: Knowing Who You Are in Christ (Paperback)
I was introduced to this book 4 years ago. I am constantly recommending this book to ladies. I am a leader in a 12 step study based on scripture and this book has been a great tool to either help break through old thought patterns and/or to point women to the TRUTH....and that is who we are in Christ and the TRUTH of who CHRIST is.....if you want to start walking in freedom, pick this book up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, March 21, 2009
This review is from: The Confident Woman: Knowing Who You Are in Christ (Paperback)
This book is a must read for anyone wanting to understand their identity in Christ and what it means to walk in that identity. It teaches the Biblical truth that God values and loves me as His child not because of what I do for Him but simply because I AM HIS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Truths from the Word of God, January 7, 2008
This review is from: The Confident Woman: Knowing Who You Are in Christ (Paperback)
I am undergoing some major transformation in my life and this book really helped me to open my eyes and heart to the truth of my own personal situation. I have gained so much wonderful clarity by reading this book and it has even pivoted me in my walk with my Father God. I highly recommend that all pastors have this book as a helpful recommendation handy for their members who are in need of emotional healing... I have already purchased several of these books to give to friends and have recommended it to others. This book is biblically enforced with the truths that will empower woman who have undergone some sort of mistreatment from parents, friends, spouses, or neighbors. This should be a must read for anyone in any type of counseling or therapy!! Thanks Anabel for putting your life story in book form!! You are empowering other woman to stand up in who they are in Christ and take their stand in setting boundaries (Godly Boundaries). Thank you!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Understanding why we fail in life., September 14, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Ms. Gilham describes how her life went from defeat, dismay and anguish to a level of peace and victory.....by changing her thinking and turning all the matters that concerned her over to God. It was a long process, and she aptly details this process and is summed up in the 5th Chapter "Reprograming Your Computer" Literally, re programing our mind and heart with God's Word is how she went from failure to a happy, well-adjusted life. It is a very meaningful documentary, and applies to all people.

This is a super book. It is especially good for those who struggle with people pleasing. The book takes you through several steps in order to identify flesh traits that you have picked up from the world. It then guides you into how to rid yourself of those traits in order to focus on living for Jesus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steps And Exits-Chapter 5, September 27, 2011

This review is from: The Confident Woman: Knowing Who You Are in Christ (Paperback)
I am still in the process of reading this book but I wanted to take this time to say that this book is nailing it for me. The review title is actually from the book and one of the subjects in this chapter is Satan's Game Plan. Everything that she has stated in this chapter is exactly what I have been experiencing in my thought process. You would think that after being saved since the age of 9. Seeing all that God has done in my life. I should know better than to allow myself because of circumstances to allow the enemy to trick me into thinking that the thoughts I have been receiving were from me. I have lost (for a moment) sight of who I am and who I belong to. I now have to look at who I have been listening to because it certainly was not God.

I am ordering a copy of this book to give to a friend of mine who has a sister who I know will benefit from reading this book. We may go through situations that we don't understand but the key to all of this is remembering that God does love us and ALWAYS makes a way for escape from every test and temptation. When we forget who we are in Christ it allows satan to come in and twist our thinking and make us start questioning what God has said. I am tired I have had enough I know what God has done for me in the past and if He has done it before then why would God not do it again when everything in Him is yes and amen. We have a choice of whose voice we will listen to. This book has assignments for the reader to complete so that you will begin to process what God has said about you and what you were before you accepted Jesus as your personal saviour. The devil is a liar and a deceiver and this book helps you to snap out of feeling sorry for yourself or being depressed to realize who you are and what belongs to you as a child of the most high God. Mrs Gillham thank you and God Bless you for writing this book!!!
