Book Description

Heidi Van Dauson had led a normal, quiet, spoiled life until she found herself as the only living witness able to make a case around three of the most wanted criminals in North America. After being forced into hiding until the trial, Heidi finds Camdon, someone who changes her: making her new life more than bearable, he makes it perfect. Now she has to decide if it's worth giving up the perfect life she has to testify, if it's worth it to go back to the old life she had before, and if she can keep lying to the only person that she's ever loved.

1.0 out of 5 stars Made it about 13% and quit reading March 30, 2013

Understandable errors don't bother me so much. They are not repeated the entirety of the story, and there is a logical reason for it. I hate books which are so obviously in need of editing that I question the education level of the author. This definitely needs an editor, because the writer didn't pass grammar in school.

2.0 out of 5 stars Read if nothing else is available March 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Good fluffy teen story with a microsecond of crime drama. Whomever was tasked with editing got tired toward the end. The number of word errors was high. Here instead of hear, ally instead of alley. Spellchecker doesn't quite cut it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed February 5, 2013

It was a pretty good story but the MANY grammatical and spelling errors were distracting. Obvious there was no proofreading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Please get your book a proof reader August 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Dear Jack Parker,
You have a great book, but the typos, punctuation mistakes, grammar issues and word misuse take away from the story. It's not a matter of spell check. It's misusing words like "shutter" vs "shudder", "it's" vs "its,""choose" vs "chose" or "to" vs "too." Figure out when you are supposed to capitalize or not capitalize a word, "Baby Gap," "Thanksgiving," or "university."

Please do your readers a favor, and get a proof reader for your book. It's worth the investment.

The premise is what prompted me to order this, but the facile, juvenile writing style killed my interest (the numerous grammar and spelling errors didn't help). Glad it was free -- I don't think an editor could have helped unless he/she did a total ghost-rewrite. The fact that the main character is a teen is no excuse for bad writing. :-(

1.0 out of 5 stars Confidential January 10, 2013

Did this book even have an editor? There were so many words used incorrectly and misspelled. There seemed to be at least 3 different plot lines during this story. This book could have been so much better.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lost it's way April 21, 2013

This book started out good and went downhill fast. I kept reading because I thought there was going to be a surprise connection between Heidi and Mickey or something with Camdon never happened. A love story between two kids. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a mystery.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good story. Poorly edited February 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I enjoyed the story but the editing is really bad .
The book has numerous spelling and grammatical errors that made me feel as if I was reading a draft.

Way to many errors for a published work.

I think one more polished effort to proof read to perfection, and this book Confidential by Jack Parker could have really been great. It's a bit sophomoric, cheesey at parts. Read more
