Obsolete!! This book is for a very old system, release 3.,

This review is from: Configuring SAP R/3 FI/CO: The Essential Resource for Configuring the Financial and Controlling Modules (Hardcover)
What version of SAP are all theses people using? Most production systems are using 4.6c or higher. This book is for 3.0. Almost all the screens and menu paths have changed. This was a good book in it's day. But that day has long past. This book must be updated to version 6.20. Can someone suggest a current FI/CO book?

Good Reference, what ever be the SAP version you use,

Most of the books available are just describing the functionalities of FICO instead of giving you the REAL nitty-gritty involved in configuring a particular option. Some say that the book is out-dated with screen shots from 3.x. Fine, but do you have any other book in the market which gives you the essential basics from configuration point? And, I am sure the basics have not changed, much, inspite of latest releases. This book proves to be a winner for every one - the FICO beginner-consultant, experienced consultants, cross-functional consultants, users etc Till such time some one comes up with another book, with latest versions' screen-shots and with asset accounting/product costing put together in the same volume, this is the ONLY book any one can refer to in FICO configuration.

Easy FI CO discovery,

I found it very explicit, and I am a french guy discovering SAP english lingo. It shows you all the important areas to be mastered by a SAP consultant / key user, all the main features of the software. They created a learning process through the book which I found very helpful for some matters which were a little bit old for me (e.g. CO).Drawbacks : 3.1h screens (hey! it was published in 2000!), asset accouting is missing, the price... but the book looks good in your bookshelves :) In conclusion: with this book + the SAP online help + F1 anyone could understand the FICO customizing.

This review is from: Configuring SAP R/3 FI/CO: The Essential Resource for Configuring the Financial and Controlling Modules (Hardcover)
This book really tells you how to configure the FI/CO of SAP--no SAP book on FI/CO or any functional module for that matter comes close to detail the steps on how to go about implementing the modules.Buying this book will enhance your configuration skills--guaranteed! For beginners, this book will hasten your understanding of the concepts and techniques used by the experts. For experienced configurators, this serves as excellent referrence material. For consultants who are into the training business, this book serve as an excellent instructor's guide. For those hoping to become an FI/CO consultant, this book will help you get to your goal. Buy this. Worth it.

I am a CPA/MBA who entered the world of SAP consulting about 2 years ago, and I have purchased many publications on SAP during that time. This is by far the most useful and practical that I have found to-date. The authors have done an outstanding job of clearly presenting basic SAP functionality in a manner that not only enhances the reader's grasp of SAP methodology, but also provides a useful desktop reference with illustrative examples and real world scenarios. While many of my other publications gather dust, I find I am constantly turning to this one. Highly recommended!

Best book written on cofig. in FI/CO. Worth twice the sticker price. It is an execlent source on how to cofigure in FI/CO. All SAP user levels will appreciate this book. It is clearly written (unlike the R/3 Lib) with good step-by-step examples. We (2 business analysts and one programmer) spent 3 days attempting to solve a particular problem. Once we received this book, we resolved it in 1/2 hour!! I hope to see something like this for the other modules.

This is in overall a very good book about the configuration of FI/CO Modules, it covers basic submodules but it fails to cover fixed assets and product costing (Which are very important submodules).I find it very useful that the authors included Investment Management, I haven't had experience implementing such functionality, but after reading the book and with the experience I've had in SAP FI, I believe I'm ready to implement it on my next project. A little bit expensive though.

I agree wholeheartedly that this is far and away the best book on SAP FI/CO that I've read. I've been an SAP consultant for a few years, and this book is still very helpful in explaining the how's and why's of configuration. It's well written and very thorough! Certainly worth the price.....

For perhaps the first time, a detailed exposition of the byzantine world of SAP's FI/CO configuration aspects. It is written in clear, easy-to-understand English, a distinct difference from SAP's own documentation. I only wish the book had been published much earlier: would have saved a lot of sleepless nights....This book is a must-have for the SAP FI/CO professional.

Even though I knew quite a bit that is contained in the book, there were many facets that were new to me. I highly recommend it for consultants (and end-users who are trying to enter and understand the complex world of configuration). It is written in easy to understand English with detailed step-by-step configuration.
