I was trying to find out the same thing. I contacted CINEDIGM (manufacturer), and just got a response today from marketing assistant Lindsey Coven saying,

"Hello Jonathan, Thank you for your interest in Farscape. The box set includes the same masters from the 2011 release."
Best,
Lindsey

I also cross-referenced all the material from the 2011 blu-ray release and the 15th Anniversary edition, and everything is the same. No new content, other than new packaging.

You are very welcome Mike! :)

Ya know, looking at all the info, and realizing this is the best it will get, and that it is one sale right now, I would buy it.

Shortly after I got the email I bought it myself (2011 version).

Best,

Jonathan

K. Morris says:
If it is exactly the same, why would they even bother? Re-releasing a small time show on blu-ray doesn't make any sense.

Marketing. It won't cost them anything (only a new box design), and they can sell it at a higher price. It's a small time show but with a big cult following (look at firefly). What really wouldn't make sense is spending millions to re-edit the film footage. Like I said before, I received conformation from the distributor that it is the same 2011 transfer.

I am watching it right now, and it's beautiful. Leaps and bounds over the DVDs. Even though it's not "true HD", they did an excellent conversion job. Detail is crisp. Colors are rich. It really does look like HD 85% of the time. I am very happy with my purchase.

(
UPDATED. I see that you deleted the post. I guess you noticed the dates) :)

Hi K.

This is the press release for the 2011 bluray box set, not the anniversary edition. The November 2011 date is all over the document. If you look at the distributors page for the upcoming 15th anniversary edition, it states all of this content, but in a different order (compare it to blu-ray.com specs). The Farscape blu-ray collection contains all of the DVD bonuses but added several more. I honestly don't think there are any more bells and whistles to add to this 15th anniversary edition. The only addition that I could see them adding would possibly be footage from the "final frelling Farscape convention", other fan stuff...etc. I guess we'll know for certain in November :-)

I would have bought the 2011 set if I were you, man. Now it's shot back up from $54.99 to $91.94.
