5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic romantic suspense
I love reunion stories where couples get back together after a break-up, and this one didn't disappoint me. The hero, Jared, is a San Antonio cop, and he has to find his newborn son while keeping his wife, Rachel, safe. The man who's after them is pure evil, and it doesn't matter that he's sitting in prison trying to figure out how he can prevent Rachel from testifying...

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting book...
The back of the book says:
Shock didn't describe Rachel Dillard's feelings when her estranged husband told her the news: her precious embryo had been stolen! A child- their child- had been born and had become a pawn in a killer's deadly game. Finding their baby was her priority now, but the familiar heat of Jared's arms was proving a dangerous distraction...

The man who's after them is pure evil, and it doesn't matter that he's sitting in prison trying to figure out how he can prevent Rachel from testifying against him. He has money and power, and he uses both to try to stop Rachel. All in all, a very satisfying read.

One touch of Rachel's lips and Lieutenant Jared Dillard knew he'd do anything to have her back in his bed. Bringing their baby home was the first step. Stopping a murderer was the second. And if risking his life was the only way, he would prove the power of a father's love...

This book was sweet, but there seemed to be some back story that I was missing. I enjoyed watching these 2 characters find threir way back to each other and I definitely recommend it to those who like a romance/adventure. There wasn't a lot of mystery and that is what disappointed me the most.

4.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY A COUPLE THAT STAYS TRUE TO EACH OTHER IN A BREAK-UP, March 24, 2007

Jared Dillard loves his job. Rachel Dillard wants a baby. She wants him to give up his job and concentrate on family.
Two stubborn people who fail to communicate.

How long can a fertilized egg stay frozen? This is better than a year later. Someone has stolen the fertilized egg and procured a surrogate woman [who ends up dead].

Rachel has been in protective custody for over a year when Jared shows up with that news that she cannot testify against her former boss or their son will die.

Rachel can't believe the child is hers. After all these years of wanting a baby.
I was so happy to find that finally we get a couple of characters that have remained true to each other throughout their troubles [not a couple of alleycats].

Their attraction for each other leaves them with a powerful lust [or overactive hormones] that draws them together even though they try to resist. Now Rachel is seeing Jared in a different light and revising her opinion of him.

Jared is dedicated to finding their child and protecting Rachel.
The nasty scumbag's diabolical plan almost works except for the help that Jared gets from Tanner. But who is spear-heading the scheme while Rachel's ex-boss is in prison.

A couple of close calls, a few dead bodies and an elusive baby rounds out a very neat plot.

Definitely Recommended - thoroughly enjoyable read.
