Penultimate book in Partnership in Blood series a great read,

The war rages on; although the alliance with the vampires is increasing the Milice's wins, the leader of the dark wizards is incensed by this and starts to search for a way to get back on top. When Marcel and Jean officially announce the alliance, the dark wizards start to target vampires in order to try to fracture the alliance. Of course, they don't know about the partnership bonds. When they snatch Orlando in the midst of an operation, the heat is on. Will the Milice - will Alain - be able to rescue Orlando in time?Another wonderfully plotted story, introducing a few new characters and giving us more insight into existing ones. My recommendations from prior books stand - check it out!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Alain and Orlando are still the central figures, but we continue to learn about more and more other partnered pairs. The war is getting more and more heated. And the alliance and partnerships are still struggling to find their individual balances. I especially love that things are not all happy endings and good beats evil. These books are about a war, and in war there are casualties. Brava to Tachna for letting that play out in this series.
