Product Description

Platform: PlayStation 3

Venezuela is left in a state of civil war after the government was brutally overthrown by a military coup. With factions fighting to reinstate democracy, the U.S. government has offered their assistance, though the new government regime has threatened to deploy nuclear weapons if the U.S. meddles in Venezuelan affairs. The threat needs to be neutralized, and the U.S can¿t risk nuclear war. The CIA Special Activities Division operates in isolation and secrecy. If captured, any link with the U.S. Government will be denied. Conflict: Denied Ops is a highly accessible co-op FPS featuring massive, extremely explosive firefights across destructible environments. Work as a team to utilize the specific skills of each operative and experience the ultimate in destructive satisfaction with tons of exploding objects and an endless barrage of terrorists who are begging to be blown to hell.

5.0 out of 5 stars Confilct Denied Ops PS3 - Split Screen Multiplayer April 2, 2010
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game Conflict Denied Ops is awesome!!! I played the demo. Then I read reviews of split screen multiplayer offline. Awesome! I bought this game and play it with my friends at home offline in split screen. This game is great. Do not listen to other reviews. This game is onsale too. Well worth it. It does not disappoint. I don't always want to play multiplayer online only and this is a great multiplayer offline split screen at home with your buddy. We need more offline split screen games on PS3.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game for 2 people play together February 26, 2008

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I downloaded the demo and played it with my boyfriend, and we think it's fun so we decide to buy it. The graphic is average good, not best though, the control is easy to handle and not too difficult to play. Overall an average good game, nice split screen co-op mode, it's fun to play with someone else together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Split-screen co-op, chump shootin'! November 13, 2013
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I not only don't hate this game, but it's among my favorite PS3 experiences. The reason reviews are mixed stems from its divergence from the tactical, 3rd-person gameplay of prior games in the series.

Why so good? The split-screen co-op campaign is an absolute blast with each person taking on a specialist role. One person plays as a heavy machine-gunner, and the other, as a weakling sniper, working together to shoot chumps and survive. What more could you ask for in a military-style FPS?

There is a nice, long, challenging co-op campaign specifically designed for two players with an acceptable level of gore and excellent graphical effects. The on-screen effects for getting injured present a convincing illusion of receiving pain.

Now, I'd never played any prior Conflict games or FPSs on a console (I'm a long-time PC gamer), so I went into this with an unbiased, clean slate. What I REALLY enjoyed is how the game doesn't immediately force you to end when you kill friendly people with collateral damage. For that reason, to me, Conflict: Denied Ops is better than any Call of Duty/Modern Warfare campaign. Player-freedom is king! When killing friendly characters is forbidden (in every way) by a game engine, it's a sure sign of over-produced, carebear hand-holding that reduces player freedom and truly breaks immersion.

Since playing Conflict: Denied Ops, I've been desperately seeking more graphic, split-screen co-op FPSs with friendly-fire, like this! Sadly, most FPSs these days are too high budget to allow players to feel like pioneers and do things the designers didn't intend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great co-op game January 18, 2013

Bought this because our Internet has been messing up so our gamers could play something with friends still. They seem to enjoy it, wouldn't buy it for younger gamers there is language.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Fun Game September 13, 2009
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
All the depressed reviews are either from people who are very intimate with the Conflict series or expected this game to be another COD4. I personally do not own any of the previous Conflict games so went into this without any expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. It's a really fun game with an interesting concept: the 2-man team (played by you, the 1-man team) allows you to switch back and forth between sniper Graves and heavy gunner Lang, this means you can be in 2 places at once and therefore complete multiple tasks, use different weapons, split the team for strategy, heal each other... But since you're part of a team you can command your partner to go in and clear a room or an area and therefore taking all the flak, or you could both go into an area together in the same tank or APC... Lots of combinations can be done from just a 2-man team.

As far as action there are lots of blow-them-up scenes as the levels are highly destructable. The rooms are usually filled with flammable containers so shooting one will light up 1/2 the building. Anything and everything from computers servers, chairs to tables, bulldozers to water towers and anything in between can be destroyed. Your arsenal isn't huge because you're limited to what you can carry on you at all times but Lang is definitely packing some blow-them-up heat. Graves on the other hand is the night-time silent ghost killer with scoped sniper rifle. The dialogues between Graves and Lang (M-rated) are hilarious and makes this game ever better: when Lang heals graves he says "You ain't dying here redneck" vs "You tired of life rookie?" from Graves. Lang also says "I'm freezing my black a$$ off" in the Siberia mission. Just some freaking hilarious dialogues (or monologues) between these 2.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY March 3, 2008
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
This new Conflict game is nothing like the old conflict series. First of all, it's in first person (which I expected from the previews), but is just bland. I barely played the first level and I don't know if you get more weapons like the old series. The graphics stink and doesn't utiliize the power of the PS3. I have know idea why Eidos took a successful storyline and functional control layout to create this waste of money. My buddy and I loved all four of the previous series and we were sadly disappointed with Denied Ops. I bought one as a birthday gift and one for myself and returned both. I hope a new Conflict game is created going back to the old format with new graphics and new weaponry. Save your moola for Vegas 2.
