GREAT ALBUM!,
By A Customer

Falling Cycle is one of the craziest bands out there. This album contains the breakdowns of Hatebreed, the vocals of 18 Visions, and the riffs of Throwdown. Any fan of hardcore should get into this band. And if you get a chance, you should go see these guys live (these guys put on a great show!!!)...

A metalcore gem in a sea of stones,

From the moment I heard them on a facedown sampler back in February, I have been eagerly anticipating this album. When I got it I was blown away. It has an awesome layout and great artwork, much different than a lot of the other facedown bands. The album starts out with a clip of the emotional song "O Fortuna" composed by Carl Orf, and thats followed by a quick clip from the movie gadiator. Then comes the music "To you I dedicate these empty words..." The intensity of the album lets up only for the soft song "I still dream" followed by a gunshot bringing the intensity right back and not letting up until the album ends.Falling Cycles combines the riffs of bands like Darkest Hour with Throwdown-esque vocals, and some of the best breakdowns in hardcore. And somehow they still manage to write songs that blend these elements well without forcing it. This cd is amazing, and is really worth checking out.

Falling Cycle was one of the best,

First of all regarding the comment below, Falling cycle was headlining hardcore venues when As I lay Dying were still nobodies in Carlsbad, if anything As I lay Dying sounds like Falling Cycle.
And what made Falling Cycle so great was their live shows, they sounded perfect, AILD, Unearth, all those other bands could not convert the energy from the album to a live show.

I agree with Raised Fist on this one. FC does have talent, but all I hear is As I Lay Dying with another name. There are so many more great bands out there than these guys. It literally almost sounds like I'm listening to the same song over and over again. Talent 4 stars, creativity 2 stars.

why do all the great bands break up?,
By Greg (Bakersfield, CA United States) - See all my reviews

seriously i went into a state of depression when i heard FC broke up. this cd was so different from everything else when it came out in 2002. very heavy, but very melodic at the same time. the breakdowns would make your head spin. if you can find this cd anywhere, pick it up instead of what you were going to buy in the first place

Awesome stuff,

This is really good. This is the kind of stuff that really fires my engine and the fact that they are good friends of our band, The Mutiny might make this review a little biased but oh well. I think they are an even better live band.

Falling Cycle is a very talented band. Talented, yes. Creative? Not so much. They play their music nicely but what seperates them from any other metalcore band? They have badass breakdowns on a lot of songs but every breakdown seems to sound the same. This album is worth burning if you like heavy music but i wouldnt buy it.
