The seminal essays in this volume are by participants in the Society of Biblical Literature's "Q Seminar" (1985-1989) and the currently on-going "Q Section, " begun in 1990. While a large variety of topics have been pursued by contributors to the seminar over the past ten years, many of the papers have focused on compositional and literary-critical issues, as well as the question of social-historical location of Q.
