I am someone who values truth over fantasy, as long as that truth is laced with humor and well-guided hope. This book delivers. As a young 30-something divorcee, this book speaks to what I'm going through RIGHT NOW in my life. I have read it three times already and plan to keep it by my bedside for a while. There are stories from women aged 25 - 55, so there is a variety of perspectives represented. If you are a woman, divorced, hurting and looking for hope and even a laugh or two, this book is for you.

More for the woman who has been left than for the woman who leaves. And more of a personal pep-talk than a thoughtful study of marriage and divorce for the intellectually curious woman going through a divorce and looking for something with some meat to it, for whom I would instead recommend Against Love and The Meaning of Wife. But cheerful and a quick read nonetheless.

I liked the light hearted approach to dealing with getting your life back together and moving on. Although, I am only separated now, the financial part of the book could be very helpful for some women. I skimmed through the part about children, since mine are already teenagers and have accepted the situation better than me. I liked the girlfriend to girlfriend type of advice, and the stories from other women helped to show there are others who are suffering the same doubts, lonliness, frustration that you may be going through.
It was a bit short for me. I would have liked more of other women's stories on how they coped, and maybe more stories regarding older women who are now having to start over. I found that the average age was mid-thirties, and I would much rather be starting over at that age, but I'm 50 now and it is a different story when you are that age and starting all over again.

This is a well written, witty book containing everything anyone contemplating, going through, or having gone through a divorce would need to know. Amy's personal and down to earth style makes for easy and sometimes downright fun reading, while obtaining extremely valuable knowledge. Put "Conratulations on Your Divorce" on your must read list if you, or anyone you know, falls into any of those categories.

When I read this book, I could imagine the author sitting across the table from me just chatting and sharing with me about divorce and all its trials and tribulations. This book has a "girlfriends guide" feel to it; it is real, intimate, provocative, and most of all, inspiring. Botwinick turns the lights on for people who may be in their darkest hour.

This book gave me a sense of empowerment and strength to make me realize I can take care of myself and my family without a man. I now feel comfortable taking on the roles of a man I originally felt uncomfortable with. I think any woman who needs a friend to guide her thru the tough times and into her new beginning will benefit from this book.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social worker for the past 15 years and specilaize in divorce issues with adults and children. After reading Cogratulations on Your Divorce, I realize how beneficial this will be to my clients. I rate this book A+, the author has a unique gift of reaching the readers heart by providing a gilfriends guides to take you every step of the way. This book will make a dramatic difference to every woman that reads it.

As an experienced psychotherapist, I highly recommend this book to help find your way during a divorce. The practical and realistic information has been a huge help to many of my clients.This book is a guide through a painful process by a Doctor who has personally been there and openly shares her experiences with wit and wisdom. It gives the reader hope and sense of direction.

This book was one of the most empowering and encouraging books to read on divorce. I found every chapter so quick and easy to read with a plethora of true life scenarios and a wonderful sense of humor. Amy Botwinick has done a great job.

What is most interesting about his book is that it can serve as a practical guide not only to women post divorce, but also to those contemplating it. Through its honesty and wit, it empowers women to bravely journey forward, guided by the bright light at the end of the tunnel.
