Incredible, 1 Orginal Song, 2 Great Covers, And a Concert,
By "sued_xe_anihcam" (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Conjuration (Audio CD)
This album is great, limited edition so get it while you can. This is a great release, order this with Satanica and it will get you hooked to Behemoth instantly, but instead of rambling on and on about how great they are, I will get down to the songs. Conjuration Ov Sleep Daemons 10/10: Very good, in every release Behemoth sounds different. This reminds me of the outright greatness and brutality that was Satanica, while holding the flow of Zos Kia Cultus. The vocals are a bit different from ZKC, sounding more distorted and more vomited. I hope this is a good example of how Demigod will be (there next release), which they say they have been puting much more effort into. This is also the best song on the album. Wish (Nine Inch Nails cover) 9/10: Just great, this prooves that Behemoth can do anything, this surpasses the orignal because of my personal preference. The drumming is more real sounding, and I think they may have a guest vocalist on this, it just doesn't sound like Nergal. Probably one of the few songs with clean vocals. Welcome To Hell (Venom cover) 8/10: Ummm think 80's metal with Nergal on vocals and you get the idea. His vocals arn't the best here but the song is still good because it feels good. 80's metal is always fun to listen to. Christians To The Lions (Live) 9/10: The concert opens up with a sound click from one of there albums, you hear Inferno slamming the bass drum hear and there, then it goes quiet and Nergal yells "CHRISTIANS TO THE LIONS!!". This song sounds much better live, it is sped up, Nergal sounds great, his vocals have an echo. You hear his accent much more in these live songs. Decade ov Therion (Live) 8/10: Sounds different from the orignal recording and all three of the other live recordings of it I heard. It sounds good though, sped up yet again. There is a different flow to it but not different from the concert they have up on there site. Just like the orignal it is a great pleasure to listen to, just doesn't have the "Tremble to the massive greatness of it" that the orginal had. From the Pagan Vastlands (Live) 10/10: This one is always good regardless of how and where it is played. A great classic dating back to there first few albums (Sventevith I believe) and always fun to listen to, never heard a bad recording of it to date. A hit! Antichristian Phenomenon (Live) 8/10: Sounds better live but I never am a big fan of this song. LAM (Live) 9/10: Love this song, great live, the only beef is that with this recording the solo sounds like it is from a rock song because of distortion lack. Still great though. Satan's Sword (I Have Become) (Live) 9/10: Great song, but I can't compare it to the orignal because I never have heard the orignal. Still great. Chant For Eskaton 2000 (Live) 9/10: Thus ends this great concert with this piece. Always good, and it excellent when played live. Not as great as the orignal but very good as a concert closer. So what are you waiting for? Get it and preview the upcoming album. Also look forward to a new live DVD, which will contain two concerts I believe and behind the scenes footage. Sounds better than the other!
