This book exposes Great Britain as the master geopolitical chess player of the late 19th to mid-twentieth centuries, and reveals the USA as her successor on the world scene. While this rather sweeping claim would probably not be rebuffed by many, Dr. Preparata's claims regarding the extent of Great Britain's power and manipulation are truly breathtaking.

I was convinced of the basic arguments that Dr. Preparata made concerning Great Britain's economic and political machinations. He cites multiple contemporaneous and modern sources in four different languages to support his historical accounts. The economic history alone is enough to prove that Great Britain and the US colluded with the Soviet Union to set Germany up for a big fall.

The final brief chapter makes two assertions that I will mention here. The first assertion is that "(t)he present geopolitical policy of the United States is a direct and wholly consistent continuation of the old imperial strategy of Britain". The other main assertion is that the Allied elite's redacted version of history we've been taught, especially the self-serving anti-German tirades, is scandalously false. I can only agree with Dr. Parata, as far as he goes, but in his attempt to set the record straight he also tells only part of the story. I do not question the author's motivation, for I think he means well, but I would like to point out a few things that I noticed. To borrow an expression, if something seems too bad to be true, it probably isn't.

The author's main thesis is supported by more documentation than most readers would ever be able to digest, much less gain access to. Many of the books in the 10-page bibliography must be long out of print and found in only a few major libraries. Of books that are accessible, however, I note that the author relies heavily on the works of David Irving and Carroll Quigley. If you are not familiar with these authors, I recommend doing a quick search of their works on this website, specifically "Hitler's War and the War Path" by David Irving, Carroll Quigley's "Tragedy & Hope: A History of the World in Our Time". While Shaw and Quigley would make for valuable background information, I wouldn't rely on them to verify points of historical fact.

Dr. Parata cites some interesting historical figures of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, who, while once highly influential, have unfortunately been eclipsed by time. The influential geographer, and some say, founder of geopolitics, Halford John Mackinder, receives a fair mention in the early chapters. Later on, Dr. Parata states that "Hitler hadn't read Mackinder". Perhaps Hitler himself had not read Mackinder's works, but the Third Reich interpretation of the Heartland (or "Earth Island") theory would seem to be based in part on Mackinder's earlier work (much to Mackinder's dismay), as well as Bismark during the Second Reich, and German writers including Oswald Spengler and Karl Haushofer leading up to and during the Third Reich. Preparata implies that Great Britain was guided by the principles of geopolitics, but omits Germany's history of Geopolitik. There is a lot of information on Geopolitik on the Internet.

Thorstein Veblen, a Norwegian-American economist and sociologist, predicted the rise of the Third Reich with uncanny accuracy. I sensed that the author felt a special affinity with Veblen, perhaps partly due to similarities in their respective fields of study, and perhaps also due to their shared heritage as European-Americans. They also seem to share an affinity for tortured syntax, though Preparata is much more readable!

Montagu Norman, who was governor of the Bank of England from 1920-44 is perhaps the evil genius of the book. Norman was at the forefront in the Anglo-Saxon intrigues that tampered with the German political system, successfully creating a situation where a reactionary government would come to power. There is another excellent and detailed treatment of Norman's machinations in Webster Tarpley's "Against Oligarchy", unfortunately unavailable on Amazon, but available (for free) on Mr. Tarpley's website, which is easy to find. An understanding of these economic intrigues is essential for understanding (and believing) the rest of "Conjuring Hitler".

I was, in the end, disappointed and frustrated by the fact that the economic analysis stopped somewhere near the end of WW II. In the conclusion, the author jumps to the present to condemn the US for following in the imperial footsteps of Great Britain, but says nothing of the highly suspicious "economic miracles" of Japan and West Germany following closely on WW II. He makes brief mention of the IMF and "Marshall aid", thus repeating the received history he decries, and on a topic where he should know better, political economics.

Preparata presents Germany as a hapless victim of the Machiavellian Anglo-Saxon intrigues. At the end of his book we are told that everyone lives unhappily ever after under the thumb of the oligarchical hegemon, America. I'm afraid it's not as simple as that. You can read Paul Manning's "Martin Bormann: Nazi in exile" to find out how Germany, while losing WW II militarily, actually became an economic winner. Read "Unholy Trinity" by Mark Aarons and John Loftus to find out about Anglo-American and Vatican collaboration with Nazi war criminals. And don't look now, but Germany is attempting to foist a neo-Bismarkian hegemony on the European Union.

While my review may be the most negative to date, I still highly recommend this book, but I believe it is as much an anti-Anglo-Saxon polemic as it is a scholarly study. However, it presents information and an important viewpoint that you won't easily find elsewhere.

The book is worth buying just for the bibliography. Preparata has done a wonderful job assembling reference material and it is apparent that he has read and digested that material. This is a must read that helps move conspiracy theory towards conspiracy fact. Excellent anaysis throughout. My only complaint is that the author wants to prove his erudition through his vocabulary - but I suppose that can be a learning opportunity for those of limited vocabulary with a good dictionary or access to the Internet.

Although many of these ideas have been expressed by Sutton, et al., Preparata goes further and broader than his predecessors and does so in a style that keeps one engaged and eager to learn more.

This book is incredible! So dense with vital information and so well supported~ this changes the way I have always thought about this era of history. The world is never so simple as the good guys and the bad guys and this book contains the proof for that leading up to WW2. I'm really hard to convince along these lines, but this book has blown me away. I'm a believer.

Are you interested in the political climate of the War on Terrorism? If you read Noam Chomsky and study his analysis of the U.S. role in recent history then Guido Preparata's "Conjuring Hitler" is a must read because it will eco the voice of intellectual dissidence.

This author re-sets the political stage of the 1930's to expose the real magician behind the smoke and hand trick, American's history books call the victory of WWII. If you can not imagine anything worse then Hitler it is because it is taboo to ask- who could be worse then a Nazi? This book is loaded with the keys for doors our education and culture does not encourage to be opened.

Allow yourself the temptation of cracking open the dictionary, or google searching here and there. Often I find reading history and economics a panacea for insomnia but the opposite is true here. Once I started reading "Conjuring Hitler" I found it difficult to put it down. This author rewards the reader with his own style which is an added bonus for anyone interested in the relationship between history and current events. I encourage you to read the book.

A controversial, precise, intriguing, original book that intrigued me and suggested a new version for the events that shaped our recent history.

I was skeptical at first buying this book as the author has a PhD in Political Economy and Economic History and I figured that he was 'brainwashed' by the system. I was wrong.

First of all the title of the book is a little misleading, Conjuring Hitler. There is very little about Hitler in the book, a paragraph here and there until near the end of the book. Contrast this to Montagu Norman, (past governor of the bank of England in the City of London Corporation) the author writes several pages about him.

This book traces the history of Germany from before WWI, between WWI and WWII and WWII with an eye on the behind the scenes of the financing and re-armament of Germany. The treaty of Versailles and the Dawes plan are also covered. The author, Guido Giacomo Preparata does a skillful job at following the money trail to the Anglo-American oligarchy who use the worlds banking system (he calls it the 'Grid') to create wars and mold future events for their liking, basically "Perfidious Albion" using balance of power and divide & conquer to continue the 'hidden' British Empire.

Conjuring Hitler should be read by all historians and conspiracy buffs as Guido Giacomo Preparata does a masterful job proving that 'Britain and America made the Third Reich'.

When one pulls back the shroud of time, and digs into documents from different viewpoints, commonly accepted facts are thrown into a different light. This book revisits the period of European history from 1900 to 1950, with an emphasis of 1920 to 140. The story told is of lies and deceit, of governments lying to people, and of governments lying to each other. The villians are England and the US, and the protagonist, though not the hero, is Germany. The point put forth is that the British Empire at the beginning of the 20th century came to see Germany as a future threat. The possibility of a Russian - German embrace together would guarantee the end of the British empire. One must be destroyed, and hopefully both. So Britain created a trap whereby Germany would be enticed into a world war (WWII) that would lead to its destruction. Part of this trap was to enlist Russia, the US, France and Japan as unwitting allies. Using secret treaties, manipulation of the financial markets, and trade pacts, Britain helps to create the Third Reich, and then leads it to its destruction.

The author is Italian, and makes it clear at the beginning of the book that he did the research for this book out of curiousity as to why so many textbooks leave out the economics behind the rise of Nazism. The writing style is quite subjective, thereby excluding this text from any college course. But good reading it is, though the author's conclusion is rarely heard of in established circles, and should be taken with a lot of salt.

The very reason to read this book is that the "established circles" at any point in history have a track record of consistently being "wrong" when viewed retrospectively. So it is dangerous to attach credibility to conventional wisdom as spouted by tenured scholarship....in almost any field or topic. Leave that to students who need to please their professors. It is a fine book. Read it.

Readers, there were important precedents regarding the analysis and interpretation by noted contemporaries of on-going historial events during the period of Hitler's rise to power in Germany.

No-one can dispute the fact that extremely powerful wealthy Western industrialists and financiers (Henry Ford, Rockefellers, et al) colluded with various powerful German families (Krupp's et al) to bring Hitler to power in Germany.

For a moment, forget that Italian author's seemingly outlandish thesis; as if he only had historical revisionism as his personal objective? How much can we dismiss by intellectual contermporaries of that period, too?

It ought to be very hard to dismiss the powerful critiques of enlightened Americans of that same period, including the noted poet and genius intellect of Ezra Pound, who attempted to englighten Americans that they were being duped and tricked into reckless war-making in Europe. Similar analysis occurred via Senator Charles Lindberg, who was severely castigated because he authored a book which dared to expose the truth behind Western allies colluding with Germans in Germany. Many informed intellectuals of that period were against America's involvement in WW-II, until the Japanese attack against Pearl Harbor came to resolve any questions concerning "isolationism". Roosevelt had been stating for many months in his fire-side chats that Americans must be prepared to going to war in Europe, especially were the United States to be attacked. It happened. See more in the book, 'NO ORDINARY TIME', by DORIS KEARNS GOODWIN. Leave it to the reader to 'read between the lines' if necessary, but research what was brewing within the holds of the good ship, 'AMERICAN LEGION', something the author missed, and how that prototype device manufactured by Swedes proved a pivotal asset to the Allies. Likely, Hitler would have wanted that ship sunk! If the AMERICAN LEGION ship had been sunk, would we have required a Pearl Harbor attack? Probably not; and that sinking, with the Crown Princess of Norway aboard, along with hundreds of Americans returning to the United States, would have caused an international outrage which would have compelled America to enter WW-II, and forever end its "isolationism", which was festering within Roosevelt, see content of his speeches. Was it sent on a 'double mission' that was otherwise earmarked for disaster?

An above writer astutely also underscores the facts about the Bohrmann Brotherhood -- and reality that Germany became much more powerful internationally soon after the "defeat" of the Nazis in Germany. Expatriates from Germany created powerful economic grasps which spread to, "Don't Cry For Me Argentina", and other South American and Central American nations, following the end of WW-II. The Germans systematically devastated each country they invaded, stripping the wealth of banks, and even raping the cultures of European nations, stealing their most prized art works. Where did all of that enormous wealth finally go to and find protection?

It's no accident that today's historical events created by PNAC, Project For A New American Century, also wanted the United States attacked, and if necessary via a "Pearl Harbor" type event, in order to rally Americans around the flag to create wars.....in Afghanistan, and Iraq specifically a central goal, so that war in Iraq would destabilize the region. PNAC's objectives for war in Iraq were not an accident of history with regard to 9-11, though anyone can surely understand we've been misled about those dire events, with massive cover-ups continuing to this day, and with no apparent real investigations pursued by Congress. A false flag attack was desired by PNAC; so, did PNAC just dream "good dreams" or "bad nightmares" in order to successfully terrorize Americans, and provide for a relatively little and ineffectual "Al Qaeda" network to so quickly undermine our Constitution and Bill of Rights? Thanks to Patriot Acts One and Two, we don't need to worry about Al Qaeda so very much. No, 9-11 did not all occur from outside of the United States! In fact much of it was a result of successful conspiring behind the scenes, as is often the case if addressing Machiavellian schemes. Is this really too much for us to contemplate?!

President Kennedy was approached by military brass to consider a false flag attack against the United States, and he vociferously opposed it! The militarists wanted to execute a plan of violence and terrorism against American citizens and blame it upon another country, and President Kennedy found that prospect to be morally corrupt. Do you really think the 'lone wolf' assassin Lee Harvey Oswald vetted himself into the Navy, and obtained a high security clearance, all by himself, and got sent to Russia, all on his own?! Oswald was strictly manufactured as a perfect cutout figure.

It's impossible for one 'lone wolf' to triangulate live-fire from three separate positions, too; ah, but some still want Oswald to be known as the real sole assassin of President Kennedy. Why? Oswald never had any personal animosity toward President Kennedy; nor did he fire any rifle.

Who was Ruby (Rubenstein) connected to in Dallas and New York? Why was Ruby allowed into the secured halls of Dallas jail, and allowed to shoot Oswald dead? What did the collective inner-group want covered-up about Oswald? Why did they want Oswald shot dead? Which groups prospered from the American War in Vietnam?

A monstrous act of 'change' was required, with shock and awe. A most public bloody event was needed. Mere poison would not do the job to shock into compliance. A coup would never be suspected, since one man would be charged, and then eliminated, and no trial for messy questions arising.

Many years ago, our American created military-industrial complex, the phrase made most popular by Ike, was severely criticized by former President Eisenhower, who warned the American people not to become too economically dependent upon the largesse provided by military-industrialism. We're in the thick of it now, and to deny that reality of our monumental military-industrial economic hegemonies is also to equally dismiss the realities of Anglo/England-American alliances which encouraged and fostered reactionary movements in Germany, too, not so very long ago. manuevers and conspiracies have been going on a very very long time.

Look at which countries became much more powerful at end of WW-II, while uncounted billions were looted from many nations. Did IBM profit, and MBZ, and little cars including VW, and Krupp dynasty, and did many other groups and industries profit, including pharmaceuticals enterprises and secret experiments in concentration camps?

Did Germany nearly become the first prototype Technocracy; or is that advancing now by secret designs within the United States? In Germany control was becomming much more than fascism -- understanding that corporatism is merely an euphemism for fascism -- with IBM cards carefully following the destinies of countless tens of thousands of people considered as "lessers" who were marked for death. Where is Technocracy taking us today, with chips, and all physical movements being followed, and cameras suspecting citizen's?

Historial truth is far stranger than any fictional inventions of history.

Why are some Americans inculcated with radical fundamentalist Christian-Zionism and allied so closely with some Jewish and non-Jewish Zionists here and some in Israel, so eager to propel the world into international conflict, Global Armegeddon, based upon Revelation's? Is Israel secretly supportive of ALL Biblical tales and Biblical prophecy, or is it being selective solely to advantage of those militarists eager to sell weapons of mass destruction? Why have American fundamentalist Christians endorsed so much heresy within radical Theocracy that is in opposition to our United States Constituion and Bill of Rights; eg., DOMINION THEOLOGY? And why are so many supporters of DOMINION THEOLOGY endorsing radical Zionism in Israel? Why have standard Christian and Jewish churches not openly opposed the madness of the fundamentalists?

How can we possibly have an ideological war, WAR ON TERROISM, without one or several nations being the target of our anger? A war declared but not against any single nation. An ideological war on evil (of Al Qaeda, or other evil terrorists groups) will be assured of lasting a very long time. Made so useful as soon as the COLD WAR was winding down, eh? Why, we may as well have ourselves endless WARs ON EVIL, no real need for clergy but for quaint sycophant war-endorsements; and forget about any compassionate heart of weary Christians sentimentalities. We truly need SHOCK AND AWE to help our heathen brethern come to God, quickly, even if by ultimate sacrificing of lives. Baghdad "back into the Stone Age" destruction was just a start, let's have ourselves more endless war-making, hopefully bombing Iran with nukes, save some lives.

So, how did our WAR ON TERROR so quickly transform and become a CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS? Unless, of course, that was the real goal, making us all endlessly fearful of those different. Zenophobia raised to an ultimate prospect, divide and conquer, for endless dominations.
