One of the best rock albums of the year so far.
Doug
Connect, for me, is one of those rare serendipitous music purchases that has quickly been added to my list of favorite complete albums of all time!
Tilly
It's not even half as good as either of their other two albums.

Let me first start off by saying that I like Sick Puppies. I've followed them since Dressed Up as Life and have seem them live a few times (which I would highly recommend regardless of your opinion of this album). With that said, let's not kid ourselves into thinking that Sick Puppies is anything other than a rock band, with some songs leaning towards pop-rock territory and other times more towards the hard rock side. The difference has always been that their particular brand of rock was thought out and the lyrical content oozed wit and insight. It seems with Connect is mostly absent. The lyrics feel a lot more generic and rushed than previous releases, and the hard rock side of the band that gave them versatility and originality in the past has all but been abandoned for pop-rock and what will make them more popular. If you liked Sick Puppies for their uber-popular song, Maybe, off Tri-Polar you might thoroughly enjoy this album, as that song seems to be the template for 75% of this album. If you were into the band for their harder side and songs like You're Going Down, War, or Cancer you stand to be disappointed.

Before picking this album up, it is available on Spotify and YouTube in its entirety. I would highly recommend giving it a listen or two before deciding whether to purchase it. It's not a bad album by any means in comparison to many of the other "mainstream" albums that have come out thus far this year, but I had higher hopes for this band and Connect just feels rushed in comparison to previous efforts.

Been a big fan of Sick Puppies since Dressed Up As Life. I loved Tri-Polar, so I had high expectations for this new album. One of the things I like the most about Sick Puppies is that they deliver on the heavier tracks as well as the more mellow acoustic tunes, giving a nice balance of the two. The problem with this album is that balance is gone. This album is very mellow. My count is 4 rockers to 8 mellows. The songs are all pretty solid with a few standout tracks (No Going Back, Gunfight), but all in all I came away underwhelmed.

Connect, the Sick Puppies 4th studio album is incredible! With 16 tracks, 15 original and 1 repeat, Connect has something to say and I'm listening! Connect, for me, is one of those rare serendipitous music purchases that has quickly been added to my list of favorite complete albums of all time!

This album is alright but not at all what I expected. I liked the other albums better but I'm a huge fan and always will be.

Honestly I love sick puppies I have every single album and often times with bands you only love one or two songs but i find with sick puppies I always love every single song on the album.

For example Gunfight and Posin are by far my favorite songs on the album and they are not even the single.

There's No Going Back for Sick Puppies and their fans alike. From Die to Save You to Better Waste of Time, you won't be Walking Away from this album. Run to join the Gunfight, drink the Poison, and ask yourself, Where Did the Time Go since you could last Connect so much with lyrics from a world constantly Telling Lies? The Trick the Devil Did was to put us Under a Very Black Sky and to show us No Mercy, but we're Healing Now that this new album is FINALLY out! :D You weren't going to buy this?! What Were You Thinking?! BUY IT TODAY! :D :D :D
