Book Description

What if a “Once in a Lifetime” could happen twice?

In Dahlia London’s world, happily ever after is a far cry from reality. Her soul has been left completely shattered by tragedy. But a surprising reunion with someone from her past is about to give her a reason to love again…

When rock star River Wilde comes back into Dahlia’s life, their super-charged connection runs deeper than either of them ever expected. The more time they spend together, the more intense their relationship becomes, and Dahlia believes at last she has found her soul mate.

But as old bonds fade and Dahlia’s grief begins to lift, her guilt and confusion remain. River desperately wants to be the one who mends what’s been broken—but with a past that refuses to stay buried, is it possible for their future to begin?

It's been 2 weeks since I finished Connected and Dahlia and River are still in my head so it has to be a heart swelling 5 stars!!!” —Bookaholics Blog

"Emotional, unpredictable, and downright hot." —K.A. Tucker, author of Ten Tiny Breaths

"This book had all my favorite things. Sweet, all-consuming romance, smart and real characters, and just enough of every emotion to keep me unable to put the book down. This was one of those holy-smokes kind of books!" —Shelly Crane, New York Times bestselling author of Significance

3.0 out of 5 stars great book but yet another damn cliffhanger ending! March 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Great love story, well written with characters I felt were so real that I was "in" the novel with them. Its took a while to get going, lots of sweetness and hot romance and I was waiting (as you do) for some action, tear jerking, drama - you kow how the format goes :) and got over 60% and the two leads were still happy, only had a couple of minor hiccups so i wondered...no...the decription didn't say series, dou, trilogy...surely its going to be a complete novel. But the begining mentioned another character and some strange actions and we've gone no further with that yet - times getting short.
Anyway, cut to the chase, yes the big drama happens right at the end and Damn It - cliffhanger ending and autumn to wait til next book out. WHY WHY WHY do authors do this? I feel I wasted hours reading this yesterday as I don't enjoy book without an ending, and when i know the whole story means more than one book i try to wait til they're all out before reading.
Ending it in limbo really spoils my enjoyment :( unless its a complete book with paret two picking up but proper story closure in part one. So many authors seem to be using cliffhangers and i know i'm not alone in hating them! I even flick to end before starting a book often just to check, of course this one didn't suggest that may be the case so i didn't bother...wish I had. I'd have gone for 5 stars if not for the fact its only part of the story. Please Authors - tell us if your book is only part of a stroy. At least we can chose then whether to wait til its complete rather than wasting time and feeling conned.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING AND DIFFERENT! April 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Great story! I was starting to get tired of the same story being told over and over about the "rock singer/Guy in band" and boy was this different! Couldn't put this book down and was so happy I bought it! The only thing I hate is the wait for torn to come out so I can figure out what happens!!!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars On the fence April 7, 2013
By Kmac
Format:Kindle Edition
This one had a very strong start and I felt like this might be a promising one because of all the elements you were promised at the start.

I was into it a lot and very much conflicted as to who I should like or if I should like both. It was a steady journey and then ....

Before I know it, people are dying, unconventional reunions are happening and I am thoroughly confused and just skipping through each chapters wondering what is going on, whats the outcome, when are we gonna be made privy to the big secret that River holds.

I absolutely despise the lyrics at the beginning of the chapters, especially when we reached the chapter to 'Breakeven' because that is one of my all time favorite songs. I believe that she should have found a way to deliver the correct and proper lyrics or just don't do nothing at all!

The song choices throughout the book was lovely and I was uber excited for the Kellan and Jake nods because those are to of my favourite books and book characters and I loved the shout out to other YA authors. It was noble and commendable if I might say so myself.

The complete switch of narrative from Dahlia to River was confusing and had me wondering why and when would we hear from Dahlia again.

Conversations were ... awkward to say the best and didn't really flow or convey much for me. Sometimes it was down right annoying to be privy to a conversation that could have surely been edited out of the book.

I honestly believe the climax came at the end of the book, while one of my thoughts turned out to be right and I was starting to feel the book again, and just like that it ended and I was told fall 2013 with a 10% mark left on my kindle and two totally unrelated stories from two totally different authors ... yeh ...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Be Snowed By 5-Star Reviews October 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The only reason I didn't cancel my purchase was because only verified purchasers can write reviews. And I feel strongly about this book. The positives:

* The writing style is very good (it flows, character development is good)
* There weren't any annoying typos, which can yank you right out of the story when there are enough of them

The negatives:

* There was practically no plot. Boy meets girl, girl's fiance dies under slightly suspicious circumstances, and then there was no further tension until more than halfway through the book. Then there's a bit more plot (not much). I kept hoping there would be SOMETHING. Something involving the vintage t-shirts, maybe? The sister Bell? Something beyond the yadda yadda about the evolving love interest. Because several hundred pages of two people reconnecting after five years and falling in love, knit together by sex scenes, no matter how hot, does not a book make. Plus, the journal's 'here's how we're going to let the reader in on what's really going on' device towards the end was cheesy-easy.
* This story chopped off in the middle, making it crystal clear that you have to pay for the sequel to find out what happens to the characters. Online writers these days seem to be trending toward not wrapping up their stories, as a 'hook' to get you to buy the sequel. A quality author doesn't do this. There should be some kind of decent ending. Don't fall for it. This wasn't written well enough to be worth it, and I'm opposed on principle.

More About the Author

Kim Karr lives in Florida with her husband and four kids. She's always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, she wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. She went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise her family. Kim currently works part-time with her husband and recently decided to embrace one of her biggest passions--writing.

Kim wears a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of her family. However, she always finds time to read. One of her favorite family outings was taking her kids when they were little to the bookstore or the library. Today, Kim's oldest child is seventeen and no longer goes with her on these, now rare and infrequent, outings. She finds that she doesn't need to go on them anymore because she has the greatest device ever invented--a Kindle.

Kim likes to believe in soul mates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. She loves to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.
