I purchased 6 copies of the UPIZ1515 or a total of 12 circuits. Of these, two circuits were defective -- the handle was stuck in the middle "tripped" position and so could not be moved to "off" or "on". Amazon replaced one conveniently on request, but that is not the point. At least it didn't fail dangerously.

This breaker is a Chinese replacement for discontinued Zinsco circuit breakers. I purchased them t the urging of a couple of fearmongering websites after a home inspector alerted me to Zinsco breaker's reputation for failing dangerously.

Being an engineer, I decided to test if the Connecticut Electric breakers actually work and if the 1965 era Zinsco breakers actually don't. I constructed a step-down transformer that could provide about 32 Amps continuously for the test.

I found that when exposed to about twice the rated current, CE breakers have a trip time of 11 to 528 seconds. The 528 was somewhat of an outlier, only two of 12 circuits had trip time of over 104 seconds. Except for the two outliers, this is largely in line with specifications published by Square D.

In contrast, the 48 year old Zinsco breakers all tripped between 12 and 23 seconds during the same test. The bus bars in my panel showed no signs of overheating as described by the fearmongerers.

Additionally, these breakers have an issue that ganging the handles together to make a 240 volt breaker does not work. When one handle moves to "tripped", it does not have sufficient force to move the adjacent handle to "off". So if you want to power a 240 volt load like an airconditioner, the UBIZ02 family of breakers which Connecticut Electric offers are better. My testing confirmed that one overloaded circuit shut off both channels.

Got my 15amp Zinsco Circuit breaker but it didnt come in any packaging it was just thrown into the amazon.com shipping box without any protection. Took it out. Looks used. Stickers on the breaker are all faded and even looks like there is some glue on the side of the breaker where they might have taken it apart and repaired it then pieced it back together. I contacted amazon about this and they told me they would investigate. Seems like if it was new the breaker would be in some kind of plastic or cardboard packaging.

Worked as expected and went together well enough. It is replacing the exact same kind that the last installer had put in, but didn't tighten the wire clamp down tight enough, causing it to get hot and ultimately fail. The threads on the new one were tight and I had to crank a bit harder than normal to get things locked down. Be sure you get these tightened properly as they can be a bit deceiving with how tight the screws are in the first place. As of now, I would buy these again as Zinsco is so dang spendy for what they are.

I wrote this review after receiving the Circuit Breaker. This is the second time I am doing this review as it seems the first one was deleted? I was sold a new item, as it was described, and received an obvious used unit. Fortunately it works. It looks like it was in a commercial kitchen as it had what looked like food grease in spots that could not be cleaned without a cotton cue tip. I am very disappointed because I received a used unit when I was told it was new. I would have purchased a used one if I knew it was used, but not for the price that was charged for this one. Beware of this seller.

This also is not a Connecticut Electric piece but a Sylvania. Sold by Dixon and Daughter. I think shady...

If you have a Zinsco panel in your home then call an electrician and have the whole thing replaced. But if you can't afford that than these breakers can keep your fire trap going a little longer. This breaker worked for me, easy to install.

Bought this breaker as a spare. Since I don't have a need for it right now, I can't give an accurate review. It looks fine and I'm assuming it will work ok when/if I need it. Ordering and shipping and packaging were great.

Much cheaper than buying it here is stores locally. They are all pretty much the same. It works in my old box, which is the whole point,
