Fabulous!,

This review is from: Connection Generation: How connection determines our place in society and business (Paperback)
Iggy's redefinition of generations from a persons age to their level of connectivity makes perfect sense in the online world of today. It goes a long way to explain differing social and business behaviours that can't be explained by age or any other demographical information that is often used. A must-read for anyone managing people or working with clients or prospects.Very happy with my new generational definition!

A 5-Star Must-Read For Anyone Interested in Social Media,
This review is from: Connection Generation: How connection determines our place in society and business (Paperback)
Connection Generation by Iggy Pintado is a must-read insight into how to get the most out of your use of Social Media. The author writes with an endearing personal style that draws the readers in and helps the relate more fully to the tips and insights being discussed. Iggy Pintado is clearly passionate about his pursuit in helping people to get the most out of a form of media that is still in its infancy; he writes in such a way that readers are not only encouraged to implement the strategies that he suggests, but to also look at how they can tailor their own strategies for their own individual purposes. Before I read Connection Generation, I was an occasional Facebook and LinkedIn user, and was highly sceptical of Twitter. I have since used all three forms of Social Media to vastly exceed my own online goals and expectations. Many but not all of the insights that the author provides are those simple yet powerful initiatives that you wish you had thought of yourself, leaving you saying "of course!" to yourself with each turn of the page. Fear not, because Iggy Pintado thought of them! By this, I mean subjects like online etiquette, leveraging off your own network's networks, the power of thanking people, and the power of performing small experiments. This book is an absolute must-read not only for the current generation to unleash the potential of Social Media, but also so that we do not fall too far and too quickly behind The Upcoming And Fast Learning Next Generation!

The Importance of Connections,
By
This review is from: Connection Generation: How connection determines our place in society and business (Paperback)
Iggy Pintado has hit home with his book Connection Generation. In the book Iggy discusses the importance and the power of and behind connections. The value of connections is just as important as it ever was. In recent times, as well as the usual means of connecting, we are now connecting more and more via Social Media and remote means as a result of our diverse and distant lifestyles. Our innate desire and need to connect with family and fellow human beings has led us to develop innovative and creative ways to connect. Iggy also gives us a lot of statistics and facts to back up his findings and add credibility to his text. He also gives us examples of how all age groups are participating in all areas of the new electronic mediums to stay "connected" in our lives. To summarise, this book is easy and fun to read and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in connecting better in all areas of their lives with family, friends and for business.

A great 'connection technology' resource - can't wait for the sequel!,
By Helen Crozier "transforming technology into p... (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Connection Generation: How connection determines our place in society and business (Paperback)
Being closely involved with 'technology' and the 'web' before it even became mainstream I did not buy this book to have twitter, facebook or linked in explained to me. The reason I bought it was for the insightful on the ground case studies that illustrate the different relationships people from all generations and walks of life have with 'connection' in general.
In my time as a consultant I've found there are certain personality types that will adapt to all the new tools as soon as they appear and they think the world is a better place for that. At the other end of the spectrum we have the slow adopters or people who refuse to adopt any of it. I am grateful to Iggy's thoughts on why these people are like this and whether or not they can be slightly nudged into the 21st century to their benefit. This book explores the different connection technologies and networks currently available for our business and personal relationship gain. I found it an easy read and particular value the reference section at the end. It is a book I will read again as I devoured it too quickly the first time. Highly recommended to 'social network sceptics' just to get an understanding of why this world is expanding so rapidly. Extremely up to date, personal, well written and interesting!

Connect and Grow Rich,
By Geoff McDonald "Book Rapper" (Melbourne, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Connection Generation: How connection determines our place in society and business (Paperback)
The Big Idea: Forget when you were born. The most important generation right now is the one connected to digital media. Got a mobile phone? Email? Internet? We're the Connected Generation. And Iggy let's you find your place in the connected world and how to move through it. Are you a Basic, Passive, Selective, Active or Super Connector? It's important because being happy, healthy and wealthy depends on it.
I met Iggy in Sydney recently and he gave me a copy of his book. I promised to read it but not necessarily write a Book Rapper issue on it. When I first looked at Iggy's book I thought I'd heard it all before. There's a bunch of other people spruiking about networking, connecting, social media, blah, blah... Despite my scepticism, Iggy lured me into his world. I could see how my connections, or lack of them, were shaping my life. I could see through his Connection Profile that I was a 'passive'. This explained a lot... The end result... I've been getting into action. Making contact, creating new habits, sharing more... I now rate myself as a 'Selective' Connector, nudging up to an 'Active'. I've also written a Book Rapper issue based on this book - only 12 books are selected each year so that's the highest rating I can give it. Read it if you want to connect and grow rich.

Social Media Revolution?,
By
This review is from: Connection Generation: How connection determines our place in society and business (Paperback)
Iggy Pintado explains the new connection paradigm with clarity.
I actually hesitated for a fraction of a second when I wrote the word revolution above. It is not strong enough. We are witnessing profound changes in the way we connect with each other. Iggy Pintado dives deep in exploring not only the way we connect, but also how we interact with one another through social media. We are witnessing trans formative events happening in Iran at this very moment and the only way news is getting out is through connections. Our connections are changing the world, and they are changing us. This book, Connection Generation, is a Must Read Now for all my friends and clients. You are in the connection generation NOW.
