4.0 out of 5 stars Connections: A World History
I'm a Global History major and I used this for my last general education History class Spring 2011. It's an okay book as long as you understand that like most gen-ed History texts it's more condensed and generalized as there's simply too much history to cover in the semester so the text is adjusted accordingly. Additionally, if detailed history knowledge is sought then...

2.0 out of 5 stars Guaranteed Mediocrity
A mildly insulting but well condensed compilation of facts with some explanation as to their significance sprinkled haphazardly about. The textbook claims that the authors are experts but one would almost be better guided if one consulted Wikipedia as opposed to this rather mundane textbook. That said, the maps and pictures included in the textbook are phenomenal.

I'm a Global History major and I used this for my last general education History class Spring 2011. It's an okay book as long as you understand that like most gen-ed History texts it's more condensed and generalized as there's simply too much history to cover in the semester so the text is adjusted accordingly. Additionally, if detailed history knowledge is sought then you won't be using this text, rather you'll look for texts that specifically address what you want to know about.

This text isn't a difficult read, it's just not a real deep look into the history being covered, rather it's trying to pack as much info in, stated as simple as possible.
