Total fail.

Doesn't work, at all.

Either one of the two USB plugs, somehow manages to carry *less* power than just one normal cable would. Both plugged in, still don't carry even as much power as one normal cable.

Signal goes thru (which you can test by powering your device thru an AC adapter), but that's completely besides the point - these are supposed to gang the power from two USB ports together, but they don't even properly provide as much power as 1 normal cable.

Completely misdesigned, or... some huge batch where, they're all defective...

Whatever. Don't waste your time.

Ordered 2, tried to use them on multiple drives and computers. These cables just don't work. Fortunately they're only a few dollars, but don't waste your money or time. If you have a choice, you migh choose something other than Connectland cables.

Made better than some internal power cables for sata. Thick in the right places. I had some cheaper extensions break because it was thin and cracked after a few insert/pull situations while swapping parts during troubleshooting situations.

There a are two kinds of SATA adapter cables that you'll see out there: Those with the +3.3VDC pins (orange), and those without. Many hard drives don't need the 3.3v, so some manufacturers think it's ok to leave them off. But many hard drives DO need the 3.3v, and in that case your hard drive won't spin up with this cable.

I tried to use this cable for powering and re-imaging a fleet of laptop hard drives, and about half of them simply would not spin up without the 3.3v leads. The hard drives were all very similar, so there is no easy rule about which drives do or don't require the 3.3v. For that reason, always make sure you have a 15 pin cable.

The old molex power plugs don't have a 3.3v lead, only 5v (red), 12v (yellow), and ground (black). It's easy (and cheap) for manufacturer to connect those straight-through (using an open connector) and skip the 3.3v. A good SATA cable will instead run into a sealed connector and output all 15 pins and all 3 voltages.

Very unhappy that this product is a SATA to Slim SATA connector, NOT a SATA to mSATA connector as advertised. Guess I should have taken a moment to look closer at the pic before ordering, but I was in a hurry and the description was describing a different product than what this is. Wish Amazon would take the time to learn what their products are before typing a title and description for them.

I bought this molex to SATA power cable adapter to use in a Gateway PC when the power supply failed. I searched the web to find a replacement power supply but the sites I visited, including eBay, was asking anywhere from $47 with $10 S&H to $70 with $12 S&H. I pulled a power supply from an old Dell Optiplex tower. However, it has an IDE adapter so I search the Internet for a molex to SATA power cable and I found it here on Amazon for a mere $2.10. Needless to say, it worked like a charm and I saved nearly $50!

This cord did not deliver enough power for my NexStar sx 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure. I had ordered it while on vacation because I had left my OEM version at home. The connectland worked momentarily but eventually my hd started making a heart breaking clicking sound. At first I thought I had a hd crash and I tried the cord with a second NexStar enclosure - with the same result.

When I got home both drives worked with my OEM cord.

Do yourself a favor, get a higher quality cord.

Got it, installed it, works fine. Only had one sata drive to use with it but works fine. I don't know if the other connector works cause I dont need it but the one I am using works great. Good product if you need some extra sata power connectors.
