4.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely beautiful photos but...., March 30, 2000
This review is from: Connoisseur's Guide to Antique Glass (Connoisseur's Guides) (Hardcover)
For the collector this is a book to dream with and display on your coffee table... for someone searching for information and ball park figures on Grandma's attic stuff this lacks both of those.

1.0 out of 5 stars You can do much better than this, May 15, 2010

This review is from: Connoisseur's Guide to Antique Glass (Connoisseur's Guides) (Hardcover)
If a connoisseur is defined as someone who likes things because they are old (Roman times) or were used by common people then the title matches what is inside. The photos are large but one or two examples of a glass style does not show either the beauty of design nor the extravagance available to people with exotic tastes. Buy Sotheby's Concise Encyclopedia of Glass or Starting to Collect Antique Glass and you will be much happier. I own both of them and this book can only claim larger pictures.
