Excellent text but not for everyone, November 12, 2010
This review is from: Conn's Current Therapy 2010: Expert Consult - Online and Print, 1e (Hardcover)
There's a reason it's been around so long, so definitely worth the buy if you're accustomed to this type of presentation. But like Ferri's being revised every year, you find an old stack of them in any medical library and wonder how current everything really is. Ferri's is more concise and to the point that most new physicians are accustomed to. This text though is basically a whole bunch of physician experts in several fields, telling how they treat certain conditions. It's helpful, good evidence base, but not for everyone. Not the style for the current uptodate, google generation physician. However, it does bring a chunk of experience on certain subjects that many nowadays may miss in training and have no idea where to start. It's utility is like having a preceptor teach you on a particular condition, and helpful for today's physician with easy access to information, but lack of patient exposure secondary to training limitations. Again, not for everyone.
