Conquer the Fat-Loss Code follows on from Wendy's previous New York Times bestseller, Crack the Fat Loss Code, taking weight loss to a whole new level. Start by cracking the code to learn the basics, and then move on to conquering the code for more variety.
The eating plans vary from her first book, with double accelerated weeks, and grapefruit days. Wendy has included extensive information on adding HIIT and EPOC cardio and incorporating weight training to make your fat burning more efficient whichever program you are following. The success planner is very clearly laid out on a double page spread for each day. Plus more recipes and meal plan ideas. There is also a chapter on what to do if you "fall off the wagon", plus how to incorporate holiday and special events.
I highly recommend this program. I'm on my second 8 week cycle, and losing weight easily, without missing out on the foods I love, like chocolate.

"Conquer the Fat-Loss Code" is nothing short of a complete strategy to lose fat, raise metabolism, shed unwanted pounds, and remain fit for life. Wendy Chant has presented a book that not only explains the science behind the body's reactions to food and exercise, but also details how to take advantage of these natural tendencies.

Chant's book is a quick read because she explains the fat-loss code in simple, readily understandable terms. She also outlines all the principles involved in optimizing fat-loss (like the meal plan cycles) in straightforward bulleted paragraphs and in-a-nutshell "Conquer the Code" boxes for quick comprehension and reference. Testimonials to the success of the Fat-Loss Code (inserted in the book as "What the Code Crackers Are Saying") are short stories that add to the credibility of the method.

Chant's book is also a long-term guide because it has a complete 8-week planner that lists daily food suggestions, weight training and cardio schedules, and a feedback log complete with the day's affirmation. The book not only explains the fat-loss code, it also provides the tools you need to apply the code to your particular situation. Chant even fine-tunes the program to differentiate plans for men and women, and those aiming to lose less (or more) than 30 pounds.

Of course, a plan is only as good as its Plan B. So, Chant also includes tips and tactics for special days like weekends, travel, and holidays, plus a special section on what to do if you fall off the wagon. And it goes without saying that the chapter on "Quick Tips for Ultimate Success" merits a permanent bookmark.

I have been on this program since Jan. 3, 2009. I've tried every program known to man since going thru menopause and it has worked great for me. You get to eat soooo much food and it is all food you buy in the grocery store. It was a little confusing in the beginning and took awhile to learn "the language" of the book but once you do, it comes so natural what to do. (I've lost 22 lbs and lots of inches. I was in a tight size 16 and now size 14's are getting too big.) This is a fat loss program, not a weight loss program. Due to chronic pain issues, my exercise is limited but I've still had great results. Wendy Chant has changed my life and I feel so "in control" of my way of eating with her guidance. I followed CRACK THE FAT LOSS CODE. I plan to purchase CONQUER THE FAT LOSS CODE soon. This book is worth every penny. By the way, you get Carb up days and cheat days which I think helps you stay on program and not have cravings. Best of luck!

I have no doubt that Wendy knows her stuff. The problem is getting the message across to the consumer. This book is so poorly put together that it's distracting. I spend more time trying to figure out what the author means than actually putting the plan into action. For example; I took the book into my local GNC to purchase the recommended supplements. When the sales clerk asked what kind of dosages I was supposed to use of each I was clueless. I ASSUME whatever the dosage is that's listed on the bottle, yet there are days when she recommends the supplement multiple times in the day. now what? Do I take a whole daily dosage more than once? Do I divide it up? How do I know? Another example came to light just this morning as I was glancing at her recipes in the back. In the Lentil Bean Soup recipe take a guess what's missing from the list of ingredients. You got it! LENTILS! C'mon people! I paid good money for a book it appears nobody bothered to proof read, let alone edit. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. Now the reason I say I don't doubt Wendy knows her stuff is because despite the poor format and lack of thought, I have lost weight in this first few days of her program. I've been losing weight for the past four months and needed a change of some sort as my body was growing used to what I was doing. This program seems to be busting through my slowdown. But if I had to do it again, knowing what I now know, I would choose a different carb cycling book.
