Walking a mile in her shoes,
By Michelle LaBelle (Batesville, AR USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
I myself am not a sufferer of fibromyalgia, However I'm very close friends with someone who is. I have always sympathized with her but I can't say that I ever really understood her problem before reading this book. While on vacation in New Orleans I heard about this book and I decided that I would bring back a copy for my friend. Before giving it to her I thought I'd read it and maybe I'd get some sort of idea of what her condition really entailed. Boy, did I! Ms. Fitzgerald takes you on a journey of her life and what it is like to be a fibromyalgia sufferer. She MAKES you understand the very real pain these people go through on a daily basis. I read the entire book in one day, and yet I remember putting the book down several times so I could tell my husband another one of the outrageous things that happened to this woman at the hands of doctors who didn't know what they were doing. I'm so happy that she finally was able to find relief from her pain with the help of at least a few competent doctors. Her story was truely inspiring! I recommend this book to anyone who has fibromyalgia, as well as to anyone who knows someone with the disorder. Those of us who have friends and family suffering from the disorder want to do all we can to help. Reading this book and understanding that what they are going through is very real, may be the best thing we can do for them. Congratulations Ms. Fitzgerald on a job well done!

New Orleans TV features a story--changes my life,
By Mona Dove (Louisiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
I heard about this book on the medical news segment on TV in New Orleans. The author and three physicians who read the book were interviewed. Two of the physicians were from Ochsner Foundation Hospital which immediately caught my attention. The rhuematologist stated that things are turning around in the scientific community and there are very reputable investigators now really working on this neuro-transmitter, neuro-hormone aspect of the condition of fibromyalgia. The neurologist said that getting on hormones that mimic the body is a valid thing to do. The GYN also agreed with the book by stating that he felt that the natural hormones could help fibromyalgia to improve! I applaud this book because I had a partial hysterectomy and had not felt right after. After reading the book and trying the hormones recommended it change my life. I feel better, have plenty of energy, and sleep soundly. I even lost weight I had gained after having the hysterectomy. This book has all the answers to what I needed and is very imformative and encouraging. The book offers a website and email address to the author and she answers questions from readers. I have seen myself and others benefit greatly from what we learned from this book. I want to thank the authors for sharing the story of one woman's struggle and I am so grateful she shared how she conquered her disease in a great book!

I Could Not Put It Down Until I Finished It !,
By Janice Berger Crochet (Elberta, Alabama United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
My experience with Fibromyalgia began 11 years ago. My mother told me about Pam Fitzgerald after watching Medical Watch on television. She told me a woman had found a cure for fibromyalgia. I bought the book and started reading it the same day. I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. I empathized with everything she had gone through, having experienced many of the same problems myself. I am eager to try Pam's remedies. Everything she says makes sense to me! The puzzle is finally coming together! I am thankful she has shared this life changing information with us all!

THIS BOOK OPENED MY EYES!!,
By Marie D. (SPRING,TEXAS,USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
This book was given to me as a gift from one of my best friends. I must admit, I never understood why she was always in so much pain, and sometimes I thought that she used her fibromyalgia as an excuse. She never really LOOKED sick, but I knew she was in pain a lot. I think she wanted me to look through the eyes of someone else with fibromyalgia, so I could understand what she had been going through. The author of this book really takes you by the hand and gives you an idea of what the pain is really like. I cried while reading it a couple of times because I could really relate to what the author had been through. I know now that my friend was suffering more than I could ever imagine, and I thank Mrs. Fitzgerald for helping me to come to that realization. I couldn't even put the book down to make lunch, and I read on into the night. I think whoever wrote this book must be a wonderful, compassionate person to want to help other people. My friend and I both thank her, from the bottom of our hearts.

New Hope For A Fibromyalgia Male Sufferer,
By Christine Chiasson (Thibodaux, LA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
This book was hard to put down. Pam Fitzgerald gave lots of information and factual accountings written in a language for all to understand. The journal entries are very helpful in putting the events in prospective. She discusses how environmental factors are playing a great role in our health and lifestyles. For fibromyalgia patients and family members, whom have seen loved ones suffer day after day, the book reminds them they are not alone in this struggle. Although, the medical field has little long term relief to offer, the book sheds new light of alternatives to try. My own experience with fibromyalgia began 3 years ago, but after reading this book and reflecting back into my medical history, acute sympotoms were present many years ago. Like many other patients, I did not know what kind of disease I was dealing with. I'm trying a hormone cream and supplements and hope to see positive results soon. I recommend this book highly to all.

#1 book I recommend to anyone suffering with Fibromyalgia,
By A Customer
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
The book, "I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans into Hormones", is well written and easily understood. The author has taken all of her pain and suffering, and generously devotes her time to continue to help others who are still suffering. With the information in this book, the patient is able to gain some sense of control and find a Doctor who truly understands Fibromyalgia. Pam Fitzgerald has done all the research for you, and outlines a plan of action to better health. I was in chronic pain day and night until I began the Progesterone cream along with the care plan described in her book. I could barely function and was in extreme pain. All medications were to no avail. I am so grateful to Pam for sharing her story. She is truly a blessing. This is the #l book I recommend to anyone suffering with Fibromyalgia.

A Great Guide for Fibromyalgia Sufferers,
By Carol Benson, RN, BSN (Seattle, Wa.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
I have been an RN for 25 years and have had opportunities to see first hand through afflicted family, friends, and patients the pain, suffering, and misunterstanding (sometimes leading to mistreatment) of people who are victims of this disorder. I was around before the disorder had a name...and most patients were told it was in their heads...how awful that must have been. Finally, we have come to recognize the reality of this disease. I Conquered Fibromyalgia is a well written narrative of one woman's journey through the difficult and painful stages of development, diagnosis, and the many treatments for fibromyalgia tried until achieving success. The factual presentation of the medical and research information the authors provide is easily understood and accurate. Equally as valuable is the authors' emphasis that every patient has control over how they choose to deal with their disease, and that there are many avenues to finding optimal health which are not necessarily dictated by current medical knowledge...don't give up...Pam Fitzgerald found relief with the help of many caring practitioners...YOU CAN TOO!

Input from long-time sufferer of fibromyalgia,
By A Customer
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
Pam Fitzgerald has written a very personal, insightful account of her long journey to pain relief from fibromyalgia. All other people with fibromyalgia will find themselves as they read Pam's descriptions of consulting doctor after doctor for years looking for relief and wondering "Why me?"Because of Pam's book, I have just switched from synthetic to bioidentical hormones. The first difference I have noticed is that I am calmer, and I eagerly await improvement in my cognitive and physical functioning. Any woman, regardless of age, can find helpful advice in the sincere pages of Pam's first book. Her advice can also be helpful to women in pre-menopause or menopause. I offer her my thanks and congratulations! M. Seaward

Fibromyalgia and Optimism,
By Lori Trahan (Louisiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
For any "Fibromite", optimism needs to be first and foremost the main focus to acquiring relief from Fibromyalgia. Pam's book provides the reader with a sense of hope and the desire to fight the fight. We all must be willing to remain open-minded to accept anothers "testimonial" (especially a published one!) as a precious gift - a gift to be protected and respected. A Fibromite myself, I have dealt with the same aches, pains, stiffness, tender points, fatigue, etc., etc., like many others who deal with Fibro and/or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Ten years have past with little to no relief; in fact, the symptoms appear to be worsening. I have eluded surgery to date. The point is, though, that Pam's book has provided another avenue for me to travel. Her courage in sharing her personal life - her trials and tribulations - has inspired me to remain optimistic (remember, the main focus for relief - just in case fibro-fog has settled). My many thanks to Pam for reaching out to others with her story. Her book has merit and fortitude...

I am getting my LIFE back!,
By Nora Maise (Lafitte, LA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Conquered Fibromyalgia and Turned Horror Moans Back Into Hormones (Paperback)
Hi Pam, I read your book and was very excited to try TRI-EST and Progestrone. I have been a Fibromite for 15 years. I wasn't diagnosed until about 8 years ago. Like you I have tried every med you can think of. I am very lucky to have a doctor,(Dr. Ahmad Shanableh), who is very thoughtful and willing to help me try any thing to get rid of this terrible pain. I have been on the treatment for 1 month, and have noticed some improvement. I know I will have to keep on the treatment in order to try to become pain free and get my life back. Thanks to people like you I am doing things I couldn't have done a few months ago. God bless you and thanks again. Nora
