5.0 out of 5 stars A Reader & Patient of Dr. Foresters from Pineville, L A
Dr. Forester truly cares for his patients, both physically and spiritually. He has been my primary care physician through kidney cancer, Legionaires, allergies, fibromyalgia, and CFIDS. If you have CFIDS, please do not give up!!!

In the past 7 years, I have experienced all the ups and downs of CFIDS and fibromyalgia. This book and the prayerful, caring treatments...

First, let me say I have nothing personal against the author. He really believes what he says. He is a spiritual Christian man and just wants to help those who suffer.

I'm afraid that many who he thinks he has cured have simply moved on to other doctors. I also think that several of the "causes" of CFIDS in this book are instead diseases of their own, and...

In the past 7 years, I have experienced all the ups and downs of CFIDS and fibromyalgia. This book and the prayerful, caring treatments recommended by Dr. Forester, have saved my life and helped me to live a full and joyful life again. I am now able to teach school, ride horses, give riding lessons, clean stalls, and pick up hay. However, when it comes to housework I feel the CFIDS coming back (HA!)

I'm afraid that many who he thinks he has cured have simply moved on to other doctors. I also think that several of the "causes" of CFIDS in this book are instead diseases of their own, and absolutely not CFIDS. I was a patient of this doctor for many years, and of the many therapies we tried, nothing worked. Of the people I know with CFIDS who are or were patients of the author, they all say the same thing. Those who are "cured" certainly never had the disease I have.

In 17 years, I have progressed to being totally bedridden. If I manage to get out of bed one day a month, I'm lucky. I have tried all of the therapies in this book, to no avail. This book may help you. You may suffer from one of the diseases in this book. In that case, I hope it is the help YOU need. Those of us with CFIDS must keep looking...

I would like to say to start off that the arthur of this book is a true Christian Man and really wants to help people that suffer with Chronic Fatigue. I have been in his office on several occassions and he has neumerous patients that have been helped that suffer with Chronic Fatigue. All though alot of paitents may not believe in his treatment, there are alot of patient's that do. Just like with everything what works for one, may not work for another. I know someone in paticular that suffered for years in chronic pain. Her husbands cold not even put his arms around her to touch her. Now he can put his arms around her and touch her and she has no pain. I encourage anyone that suffers with Chronic Fatigue or Fibromyalgia to purcahse this book. I think it will be of great help and understanding to you. If this book doesn't help you then my prayers are with you and I hope that Dr. Forester will continue his research and continue to share his knowledge of this disease and hopefully someday you will be helped........

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful in diagnosis regarding what I am going thru!, December 16, 2007
This review is from: Conquering Chronic Fatigue: Answers to America's Most Misunderstood Epidemic (Paperback)
I'd like to comment on this book, because I have struggled thru the past year with Chronic Fatigue beyond what my normal monthly Pain Management Doctors can help. This book zero'd in on what I am suffering with and how to approach my Family Doctor, who simply wants to throw different Medicines at me with no regard to symptoms or outcome. I now have a Great resource to use to take to my Doctor to get the specific help that I need.

I am taken aback by the low ratings that this book has received regarding technical terms and correct diagnoses. I do not believe that some of these reviewers have been thru this and had to deal with the inability of the Main Stream Doctor to come close to helping people with Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fybromyalgia.

Thanks for a very helpful book in my Journey to recovery.

I bought this book because my wife has suffered from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia for over seven years. There are really some great, new ideas in this effort. After we read it, we took it to her doctor at her next appointment. He felt there were some very good things brought out and has changed some of her medicine to the author's recommendations. We constantly read, looking for some relief, and have found this book among the most promising.

> I'm glad that they are feeling better they say that they have been found to have Lyme disease ( A: not hrd at all to diagnose - it's a very standard test when someone complains of fatigue and not hard to diagnose) but it also has nothing to to with CFS!

Lyme Disease IS difficult to diagnose and requires a skilled LLMD's clinical review along with supporting testing (Brain SPECT Scan, Lyme Titer, Lyme Western Blot, etc.)

The testing for Lyme Disease is extremely inadequate and many patients, including myself, are diagnosed soley on a clinical basis.

Furthermore, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is an "umbrella term" meaning that there are several underlying causes. Lyme Disease IS a cause of CFS, however, CFS is not Lyme Disease.

Dr. Forrester mixes freely the tow terms CFS (which is very specific) and chronic fatigue, which as another reviwer has so eloquently pointed out is only a SYMPTOM and NOT the same as the very specific syndrome of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (often also referred to as CFIDS)!
As far as the reviwer hill6911AW who says that they are a patient of doctor Forester while I'm glad that they are feeling better they say that they have been found to have Lyme disease ( A: not hrd at all to diagnose - it's a very standard test when someone complains of fatigue and not hard to diagnose) but it also has nothing to to with CFS! It IS a condition that can cuase someone to have fatigue on a chronic basis- but it isn't Chronic fatigue Syndrome! In fact it's one of the things that you rule out before diagnosing CFS. This book overall has confusing and muddled info. It would be best to pick almost ANY of the other books on CFS / CFIS or FIbro from Amazon rather than buting this. I would highly reccomend Jacon Teilbaulm's Book as a start.

Dr. Forester has clearly examined the fatigue syndromes. He has outlined the etiologies, key symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of each disease. Millions of Americans who suffer from these fatigue diseases will benefit from reading his simple yet thorough explanations. I also liked the way Dr. Forester related the physical etiology to spiritual etiology. He points out that our body's health is governed by the connection of our mind, body and spirit. Physicians as well as sufferers will benefit from reading this book.

I have been treated by Dr. Forester most of 2003. He has hit the nail on the head and been able to zero in on the magnitude of pain in my body for over 20 years and attack the problem itself. Chronic Fatigue and fibromyalgia can be devastating to our bodies. When you can finally understand how these affect our daily lives and what we can do to fight the diseases, there is hope. I thank God for Dr. Forester and his God given talents in medicine. I highly recommend this book and the doctor who put his heart and time into helping others.
