Comment: This book has already been well loved by someone else and that love shows. It MIGHT have highlighting, underlining, be missing a dust jacket, or SLIGHT water damage, but over-all itâ?TMs still a good book at a great price! (if it is supposed to contain a CD or access code, that may be missing)

It's rare I reread a book yet Frankowski's I have, discovering subtle insights and deep thinking underlying fast-moving exciting stories full of humanity, humor, well-drawn characters, rousing action by ill-prepared people wildly improvising, a little-known setting (medieval Poland just before the Mongol invasion, and a very well done reworking of Twain's "A Connecticutt Yankee in King Arthur's Court" with more real laughs and far more purpose. There's a thousand lessons on history, technology, science, religion, economic development, warfare, trade, Playboy Clubs, time travel, project management, and politicking, so it's well worth an adult's time while a ripping yarn for an adolescent. Robert Heinlein, Neal Stephenson, Eric Flint, and S.M. Stirling would be in this caliber.

First for the quality. I purchased the Kindle version of this book. Was very happy to see that it's actually the first 3 books combined - if you're familiar with the series, you'll be happy to know you only need to make 2 Kindle purchases instead of 6-7.
Standard Amazon Kindle quality book - text is crisp clear - not a scanned copy. No DRM at publisher's/Author's request.

The book itself is fun - a present day manufacturer/inventer/socialist... transported into the past by unknown (to him) means. Creates a new modern civilization. Has (fairly non-explicit) sex with 14-16 year old girls (which is nonetheless embarrassing when you loan your book to someone). Saves Poland from invading Mongols. A more modern "Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," except the Catholics are the good guys this time.

It's not a bad read, and for the price of $9.99 for 3 books, it's worth a try.

For the next three books, look for "Sir Conrad's Lady" for the Kindle.

I'm a scifi fan and this is the only complete series I've ever read. At 700+ pages I assume this volume contains the whole thing. It's about an engineer/soldier mysteriously transported back centuries and how he changes history with his knowledge and initiative. Very thought provoking.

I read this series about 20 years ago.

This series is clearly written for guys 18-23 with raging hormones.

However there are areas of these books so funny; I burst out laughing from time to time, and I am almost 59 years old.

Laughter is very good for you because the rapid movement of the diaphragm in laughter helps move the lymph around.

If you're a Puritan; you will not like this series at all. I find this series an absolute blast. I will probably add this to the list of books I read every year.

I've reread this set of books so many times I've lost count . When I first came across this series the third book was already out so i bought them all at once. Then had to wait what seemed like forever for the next . After Leo Frankowski's death I dispaired their would be no more , but as it turned out there was one more . I've read and listened to over a hundred books on Science fiction yet never tired of this series .

This series was recently recommended to me by a friend who knew I am a history buff. I found the story a good one with a couple of reservations. I got a little tired of the author touting his socialism over and over again. I also found the loose morals and promiscuity a bit much, too. If you can get beyond that, it's a pretty good story, starts off with a fairly realistic point in history, lays out relatively well much of the conditions of the time, which the hero begins to change; pretty much as most of us probably would were we in the same situation.

I found these books years ago and started collecting them, when I found the combo series for Kindle, I was ecstatic and got the whole batch so that I could read them repeatedly without carrying all of them in hardcopy. Frankowski's writing style is smooth and engaging and the story line was very well thought out.

Although the attitude of the author is somewhat outdated the collection of books in this volume are interesting. The ideas he presents are well thought out though the final book is not as well written and stretches the concepts a bit too far.
The stories are entertaining and will keep you engaged throughout.
