The program laid out in this book can change your life, and change the world for the better. After using the powers and skills I've learned from Dr. Becky Bailey with my 3 year old students with autism, I'm convinced that they work with even the most difficult children. After changing my own life to a life of composure, serenity, and joy (mostly!), I'm convinced that other people can choose to take back their power and share that experience. Buy it, read it, and implement it!

As an elementary teacher at an urban school, I encounter all types of behavior issues with my students. This book gives thoughtful educators an alternative to traditional discipline, while offering clear strategies to create a safe and productive learning community. Teachers have to be willing to throw a lot of conventional techniques out the window in order to fully commit to this new plan, but I can attest that in my classroom these methods made all the difference. These techniques are brain based learning and work best when the teacher is fully committed to foster positive relationships with all of his/her students. I wish I had picked this up when I started teaching!

Dr. Becky Bailey is awesome. I feel sorry of the students that I have taught before Conscious Discipline but there are still more children out there that I can help (especially with 7 billion people living in this world...). It takes a lot of practice and patience to do this but after doing Conscious Discipline for 5 years, I have seen positive changes starting with myself, my students and families that I have worked with! Even teachers from higher grade levels can tell which children come from our child development program and which came straight from home or non-Conscious Discipline classrooms. This book is great for BOTH teachers AND parents! People may call her "fraud" but they probably just wished they thought of it first. Dr. Bailey's skills may seem "simple" and "common sense" for everybody, but don't judge until you try it for yourself. It is not easy at first but IT WORKS!!! Don't try to overwhelm yourself and DO ALL of the skills at one time! Commit to 5-10 Conscious Discipline skills and gradually work and add on the others. It also helps to go to their seminars and listen to Dr. Bailey actually explaining it herself!! If you are a teacher or a parent who needs help with management and find yourself asking "What else can I do!?" then read this book and other books by Dr. Bailey. (Parents, I suggest to start with her other book "Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline"). I wish you all well!

Excellent book for teachers and very helpful to parents who would take the time to read it.

I took a class with a group in our county.Great class highly recommend this book if you want to create a community of learners in your classroom.

Love it, love it, love it. Bless you Becky Bailey. She is hitting the nail right on the head with our ASD kids and alike. I only hope and pray this book finds it's way into every teacher & parents library!

Becky Bailey takes a field (behavior) that has been studied extensively for over a hundred years, twists it around just enough that the average consumer won't notice, and slaps her own terms on it as if she is some great discoverer or creator. I would expect a much higher level of disclosure and honesty from a true professional. She contradicts herself within the book, cherry-picks which researchers she gives credit to for their work so as not to point customers to information that will show the holes in her methods, and covers the most common challenging childhood behavior (refusing to do what they're told) by telling readers to go buy another product of hers (an audio recording).
