Book Description

Consequences: Book Three (The Celtic Vampyre Saga)
392 pages (print length)

Once inside the walls of Castle de Crüel, Nathaniel and Faelynn quickly realise that they might be in over their heads. An unexpected meeting with someone of significance from his past throws Nathaniel into a tailspin, which does not bode well for Faelynn, whose chances of surviving her trip to Newfoundland go from slim to nothing in the matter of an instant. Faith in herself and her cause was responsible for getting her this far, but without anything less than a divine intervention, her fate seems set in stone when Nathaniel is taken prisoner and tortured by the newly-elected head of the North American Vampyre Union. To make matters worse, Faelynn is forced to choose whether he gets to live or die. The only problem is that she has to choose between the two most important men in her life: Nathaniel and her father. Either way, nobody can win when she makes this impossible choice. Or can they?

This intriguing and passionate saga would be attractive to the habitual readers of Gothic literary works, paranormal romance, and horror.

*Warning: Some scenes within Consequences: Book Three (The Celtic Vampyre Saga) contain graphic language and explicit violence.*

Reviews:

“Continuing on at a cracking pace from where ‘Nocturne’ left off, ‘Consequences’ takes the reader through unforeseen twists and turns at breakneck speed. C.K. Farrell truly has a talent for storytelling.” – Ruairi O’Hagan, Cork’s REDFM.

“After reading 'Consequences', the third book of The Celtic Vampyre Saga, it is clear that Farrell is a writer who is not afraid to flex his intellect while exploring the primeval components of raw passion and true love.” – Veronica Salva, New Hampshire Gothic Horror Review.

"The Celtic Vampyre Saga is an enchanting and terrifying account of lost souls who seek redemption. It is a lot more than a simple, lustful vampire tale. Instead, it is a mature, artistic, and thought-provoking piece with substance in abundance. Read it, you will not find yourself disappointed, only inspired and enlightened.” – D’arcy Ondine, Artist, Poet, and Author.

Have no fear - "Consequences" continues the high standard the author has set in his previous two books. After being mesmerized by the opening two installments Consequences gripped me right from the start.

My only question is - when's the next one out?

Thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aptly named Consequences December 3, 2012

Wow. Many unexpected things happened in this book, lots of twists! As the story evolves the more I see such substance to each character. As in the last two books of the saga, I love how the author can describe any situation or place so vividly that you almost feel as if you're there too! I can't wait for the next one, this saga is a must read you won't be able to put it down. Very unique and addicting, not your predictable run of the mill stories. I can't wait to see what will happen next!!!

"Consequences" is the third novel in C.K. Farrell's Celtic Vampyre novels, following the paths of Nathaniel Valour, an ancient vampire with a soul, and Faelynn, the human who hates vampires--but is oddly drawn to Nathaniel.

The book picks up where the last left off, with Cormack de Cruel vying for leadership over the North American Vampire Union, Martha scheming for Nathaniel, and Faelynn trying to find her father and discover the truth of her mother's death.

This installment does a good job of rounding out the characters a little while moving the plot around--though I never would have thought it in the first two books, I felt a little sorry for Martha in this one; I also enjoyed Nathaniel and Faeylnn's continuing and deepening romance, and think the author did a good job with mixing horror and emotion.

I will note that I thought this novel was a little more graphic and disturbing than the other ones, so if that bothers you generally there might be some parts you want to skim (I know there is one image involving a pregnant woman that I will not be getting out of my head anytime soon). In all, though, I like Farrell's grittier, darker take on the vampire romance genre and recommend "Consequences" to readers who enjoy horror, romance, and the vampire subgenre.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book 3
This was kind of a lead meaning that the story seemed to planned but it did over all have the mystery needed to keep you reading. And the end was great open in to the next book.
