I'm a school principal in Houston and bought these to prevent vandalism on the weekends. Since we find ourselves in the middle of a drought, I was also concerned about waste should someone turn on a spigot and leave the water running. These are excellent products and I plan to buy more. The only downfall is that we have to remove the water hose each time we secure the spigot.

If you can't turn off the water supply to the hose-bibb from inside your home, this will help. Make certain that you don't have a vacuum breaker on the spigot prior to installation. Or else everything unscrews (vacuum breaker, lock and all) with a wrench.

Installed properly, this will deter your neighbor or other wise-apple from helping himself to your water.
And you won't have to listen to: "I didn't think you'd mind" or "I only used a little."

I am surrounded by foreclosed homes and the bank caretaker for the house next door helped himself to my water.
He didn't even have the decency to reconnect my hose. Needless to say, he never even asked if he could do this.

I ordered the Hose Bibb Lock for my garden hose facet. When it's attached someone can easily unscrew the silver sleeve from the facet. I use it because it gives an intruder the illusion of an locked facet. LOL!
