Donahue (law, Univ. of Wyoming) has compiled a top-notch reference work on environmental law. The approximately 200 terms included here range from art terms to court cases to federal government acronyms, but the focus is primarily on conservation and natural resource issues. This coverage works well because it gives legal professionals a better scientific footing and offers scientists a source for finding legal information. Each entry contains an informative historical or scientific explanation of the term and how it fits into the larger environmental law framework. Entries, which run anywhere from a few paragraphs to several pages, are cross-referenced to other related terms and are uniformly well written and current.
