3.0 out of 5 stars Meh. May 16, 2011
I didn't really like this book, thankfully I got it from the library. I didn't like the layout, I was expecting bullet points, step by step, sort of that easy/ breezy format usually associated with such books. Also I found some of the content to be in bad taste, although the author has some good very points such as "how to change a tire" or "how to keep your credit card information safe" but she lost me with things like "how to cut in line" (cheat), "how to replace your daughter's deceased pet bunny before she gets home from school" (lie) but what really annoyed me was "how to start a false rumor." Sure the author tries to save herself with "how to beat a false rumor," (and of course she doesn't tell you that you can be sued for defamation of character) but we are living in a time when bulling and spreading rumors is a constant occurrence, all you have to do is read about the Phoebe Prince trial to realize the seriousness of spreading a rumor. Whether in jest or not, teaching someone how to start a rumor is just in bad taste.

3.0 out of 5 stars I could do without the parenting advice February 15, 2011
By Momof2
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
There are some interesting things in this book and I've enjoyed reading it. However I was not expecting to find parenting advice from a concierge service. Even if I was looking for advice about "How to Get My Kids to Sleep in Their Own Beds", I'd prefer it come without the judgment of the "emotional damage" the author seems to think comes from allowing kids to co-sleep.
Other than that, it was a nice light read, good for passing the time waiting for carpool or at ballet lessons.

I was very disappointed in this book. The author tells you ways to lie and cheat your way through many situations. She calls it "being sneaky". I believe in being honest and having integrity so this book was not for me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected March 14, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I had seen the book discussed on a talk show it appeared to offer more detail on organization as that is what
was being discussed. I was very disappointed overall in the book.
