I have been caught up in this saga from the beginning. Yes, you can start anywhere in the line of books, but you feel like you are going home if you start at the beginning. Loved it.

This is a fascinating series and the last one is no exception. I look forward to each new book in the series. One cannot help but be impressed with the ability of the author to keep facts and people in order. The series is so impressive to me since I enjoy scifi or SiFy and with it a good dollop of fantasy. The stories are not fact, but they might well be, sometime in the future. A wondrous read. A wondrous cast of characters. And a terrific sense of adventure and action.

Same expected excellent continuation of the Bren Cameron saga in his position as 'paihi-aiji' or high Lord and interpretor to an alien race with alien thought processes, needing surviving human technology for their post-feudal steps into space as a slowly integrating nation with even more alien neighbours around the near stars and building scaled-up near-copies of the human's disintegrating ship and equipment.
Wonderful development of a alien language and culture and the logic of different thought processes and history, with the interpreter trying to avoid the previous effects of certain human technology on a race with different needs. |
