There had always been talk of UFO sightings and she had scoffed at them along with most Americans.

Conspirator's Odyssey - A.K. Kuykendall

The government is evil, they are sneaky, they are hiding things and we had all better beware. Starting in the future, and then leaping back and forth through the past, we follow Kalista Flaker, a special Ops soldier who has risen in rank due to her ferocious demeanor and obsessive nature. When she and her team are deliberately sent on a suicide mission, Kalista begins to dig into the nature of the government beast that has been controlling her for all of those years, and uncovers a disturbing truth. Determined to bring down the system and expose the lies, she makes it her mission to obtain proof of the vast conspiracy.

Kuykendall has a very distinct voice and an excellent writing style. For conspiracy theorists that border on obsessive, this book will be a goldmine. Beginning with the Area 51 cover up, to the Bay of Pigs, to the tragedy of 9/11, it almost feels as though the author was determined to cover every conspiracy known to man. The author has done their historical research, and much of this book does read as though you are in a history class, giving you almost too much background on events like the Bay of Pigs, or the History of different military groups. But the author weaves his own take on the events into the tale, giving the "truth behind the conspiracy" that he has invented, some times they are intriguing, other times they seem to go a bit overboard.

The opening of the book is a bit muddled in that we leap around in time so much that if you don't carefully read the dates at the top of the chapters, it will be easy to find yourself perplexed. When you get past the initial history lesson, and into the story of Kalista and her team, the book really gets moving.

I must say, this was NOT my type of book. While it was well written and intriguing, I just can't get into the whole "conspiracy theory" idea. At times, the book seemed hard to follow as their are so many things that have happened in the world I kept getting events and dates confused. For anyone that likes history or alternative answers to commonly asked questions, this is the book for you! I, personally, just couldn't get into it but that doesn't mean that people who enjoy this type of book won't love it because, like I said, it is very well written.

I gave it 3 stars not necessarily because I liked the book personally but because it was well written and interesting.

"Conspirator's Odyssey: The Evolution of the Patron Saint was easy to follow, suspenseful, sci-fi, a little conspiracy, and historically accurate to what is going on. I now understand totally why people, when writing, make their stories character-driven, but I prefer all meat and always look for the truth hidden inside of everything. The perfect stories for me are the ones where everything is believable and nothing is made to feel outside the realm of possibility. I felt most of the story followed these guidelines. I'm very interested to see how the story is going to unfold on all the levels to bring it to the source." --Tafa Falaah

Book Readers Review
The plot of Conspirator’s Odyssey takes the reader through many eras’ of U.S.A history, conspiracy theories, military, sci-fi, and a little romance. This is an interesting story for those who love conspiracy. The author has obviously done his research into the historical events that are portrayed. He has added his own ideas to the conspiracy’s which could be believable for a few and somewhat ‘far-fetched’ for others. The storyline is complex and detailed, if not a bit confusing at the start. There is a great deal of moving from present to past. If you are not careful and take note of the dates heading the chapters, may easily loose the thread. Interestingly, the main character is a woman special Ops soldier, Kalista Flaker. She and her team are sent on a suicide mission by the government. She becomes obsessed with attempting to find out what is behind the government’s decision. Kalista uncovers disturbing events past and present.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Conspirator's Odyssy begins with a history lesson. The events of Roswell, NM and into Vietnam and JFK's assassination are well documented in this proposed theory of how and why these events helped forge the US as the premier superpower in the world.

What follows can best be described as conspiracy theory meets science fiction. Asking the reader to suspend belief beyond the usual conspiracy theory, the subject matter was well researched and the story well written.

The "present day" storyline was a bit more farfetched, but no less enjoyable. I enjoyed meeting the characters and truly look forward to investigating further with this author.

Grade: B+ (4.5 Stars)
This is a very interesting book, nothing like other books I've come across, and certianly perfect for lovers of conspiracy theories! The author weaves a bunch of different popular events and theories into this story, created a very complex and detailed storyline. It's well researched, and realistically presented. It grabs your attention quite effectively.

The main character is female, something I wasn't expecting, and she's well written, strong, and quite defined. She's got an interesting backstory, and her personality really make this story. She drives the plot, and keeps the reader on track. With such a strong main character, we are able to really relate and get emotionally invested in this story, we need to continue on.

The author's voice really comes through in this novel, you can tell he's passionate about his subject matter, and throughly engrossed in his writing. He writes with full detail, and emotional commitment, which really makes this novel approachable, and interesting. The book flows from begining to end, with very few problem spots. I think overall, I read this novel quite quickly once I got into it. It's compelling. You need to know more.

I think the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because for me is because in the begining there was a lot of jumping around in time, and it was a little hard to follow, otherwise, this book stands out as quite an interesting read, and something quite different then the other thrillers on the market. His writing style really makes this book, and I think it will continue to make this series stand out.
