My mother had bought me this book when I was a little girl. I still remember it to this day. She had been wanting to save it for when my little sister got older, but one of her nieces took off with it from our house one summer. This book is great for any child to read. It teaches children to accept responsibility for their actions--even if it was an accident. The main character, a little girl named Constance, trips and destroys things like the world's worst klutz. Yet, a talking owl (as I remember) who follows her tells her to apologize/fix whatever she's messed up. Soon, Constance begins to take responsibility without the owl's reminders. This book helped me learn to be a responsibility kid (as much as a kid can be, but I did try), I think it's the perfect book for any new parents raising kids and wants them to learn about the consequences of their actions. I'm in my 20s and me and mother still refer to certain phrases in the book, like: Don't do it, Constance Stumbles!
