5.0 out of 5 stars If you like extreme metal, you will love it, if you don't, just shut up.
This is perhaps the most frantic Anaal Nathrakh releases to date. It's brutal, fast, evil, epic, it's all the extreme metal lovers adore, brilliant.

For those who hate extreme music, there's nothing to be appreciated around here, you'd better go listen to Michael Jackson.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's No "When Fire Rains", thats for sure...
This album is cool - especially the title track, but I think Misters VITRIOL and Kenney may have lost a bit of edge. Start with "The Codex Necro" and "When Fire Rains Down From The Sky..."

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Negative Emotion, October 3, 2009
This review is from: In the Constellation of the Black Widow (Audio CD)
After 2007's Hell is Empty, And All the Devils Are Here where the band had some experimentation with different styles, In the Constellation of the Black Widow is a return to form for Anaal Nathrakh. And apparently the last two years has really, really pissed them off. Anaal Nathrakh has always been on of the most extreme bands out there but this album seems to take it to the next level. It's not simply anger and hate contained within. Every dark and negative emotion is on display at some point during this 35 minute preview of Armageddon. Guitar riffs drip with sorrow and misanthropy. The vocals are varied and rife with anguish and despair. But make no mistake, the overall tone of this album is one that Anaal Nathrakh presents better then anyone else - Hate. Not a band that everyone can enjoy and this album does nothing to change that. However, fans of Anaal Nathrakh and extreme metal in general will not be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars I am very hooked after a few plays, March 16, 2010
This review is from: In the Constellation of the Black Widow (Audio CD)
This album was referred to me by [...] as one of their top albums of 2009, I was a bit overwhelmed at the first few listens but after a few spins I was hooked. Its a very well produced album, so much layers of brutality, gets me very pumped. I am very happy I got this defiantly recommend this to anyone who enjoys the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best release of its year, September 18, 2010
This review is from: In the Constellation of the Black Widow (Audio CD)
In my opinion, this is the best extreme music release of it's year.
Every song is epic, and there isn't a single dull moment, even for people who usually have an aversion for anything this intense.

Just got into Anaal Nathrakh just recently and this album definitely did not disappoint. As a drummer i really appreciate the versatility of the drummer and all the riffs. The vocals are awesome and jump from screeches to growls and clean vocals as well. Looking forward to their next release.

This is actually the first i have heard of this band & this stuff is just brutal! Most Death Metal bands tend to put out monotonous stuff which is usually good stuff, but after awhile it gets tiring.. this band does not! At least with this album anways. Fans of Black Dahlia Murder will love this album! Or if you love screaming, growling, brutal death metal you'll love this! If you feel like screaming, dying or just plain wanna kill someone listen to this album! Trust me it brings all that to a stop! =) A.m.a.z.i.n.g.!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Glorious, January 28, 2011

If you're looking for the wildest, most intense listen of your life, just buy it. These guys are as intense as they come. I remember when I first heard Pig Destroyer's Terrifyer album, I was overrun with a wild emotion I never got from the "Slipknots" and all that jazz I grew up around. This album renewed that same feeling. I felt like my ears had been violated in the most disgustingly pleasing way possible. The songs are catchy to an extent but still so extreme that most people won't give them the time of day.

I don't know enough about music to go into detail after detail of songs and song structure. I just know I love it, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a serious blitzkrieg of an album.
