A very talented group of musicians. Much is done with volume and silence in this work, and the compositions are quite beautiful. There is a haunting, elegiac quality to most of this album; and bright, hopeful musical moments exist in between the darker ones. Expect an instrumental work, a cross of ambient/classical/folk music, no words. Put this album on and meditate equally on the rain and the sunshine that follows.

I have taken to only buying Balmorhea on vinyl for two reasons. Firstly, it is perfect music for the record player for Friday night dinners and for calm sunday mornings. Secondly, they have always come with the mp3 download for free.

Now, about the music. While Balmorhea always seems to calm this does so while also sounding wholey different than their other albums. Constellations seems to be a fitting title as you can imagine endlessly while listening. Though, this music is not for everyone and most certainty, some one will disagree with me, the chords and tones are wisely executed and enjoyable to both classical listeners as well as those who believe this "type" of music can be bore.

This record is absolutely incredible. While I appreciate the digital version of this album immensely, there is really nothing like hearing it on a record player. So glad I purchased this and will keep it forever. The record arrived on time and in good condition. Definitely recommend to any!

This isn't Balmorhea's previous album (All Is Wild, All Is Silent) with the same formula kicked up a notch; Constellations is an entirely different creature and takes some patience. But it's so rewarding if you can sit down and spend some time with it.

I guess I didn't know what I was getting into, the samples seemed interesting enough. But this is down right depressing music. I don't find it uplifting or enlightening or atmospheric or any other new-age pronoun. It's just really slow and heavy.
