This review is from: Constitutive Equations for Engineering Materials: Elasticity and Modelling v. 1 (Hardcover)
My background is on Mechanical Engineer. I took some classes in continuum mechanics both elastic and inelastic as a masters graduate student. Although we did not used Chen and Saleeb book in class, during my thesis literature research, I discovered this book in our school library. It's explanation of the subject is brilliant. The book introduces tensors and how they are applied to the study of contimuum mechanics on solids in a logical way to understand from and engineering point of view. The book reinforced my understanding of the subject and although the price is substantial I decided to buy it and keep it for future reference. I have not see volume 2 of this fine book but I am looking forward to review it and possibly buy it as well.
