Foddy FTW!,
This review is from: Constructing Questions for Interviews and Questionnaires: Theory and Practice in Social Research (Paperback)
William Foddy and Earl Babbie (SURVEY RESEARCH METHODS) tell you all you need to know about conducting successful social research with surveys and questionnaires. Foddy's prose is very accessible, and he uses great examples throughout the text. I only wish there was a more recent edition! (Same argument for Babbie's text.) Nearly all Foddy's guidelines still hold up fifteen years after the publication of the 1993 text, but I really wish a more recent edition would come out in light of the technology boom; the book has no information about Web-based surveys, though there are some great articles available out there.

Constructing Questions for Interviews and Questionnaires,
By Julia Bailey (UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Constructing Questions for Interviews and Questionnaires: Theory and Practice in Social Research (Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is very clearly written, and gives examples all the way through about the ways in which design of questions will influence the responses to them. Foddy gives a multitude of tips, backed up by research about questionnaire design, about how to standardise questions and get responses to the questions you intended to ask.Highly recommended |
