5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect gift for toddler
My 18 month old son loves trucks, but using fork & spoon...not so much. These solved that. His favorite is the bulldozer pusher. Going to stock up on for gifts. Great!

Cute idea- not good fork, or spoon for little kids. The fork won't fork anything and the spoon is shaped wrong to hold food. Don't waste your money folks- wish I wouldn't have.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are so cool, October 10, 2007

These quickly became our 2-year old girl's favorite meal accessories. They've become our default gift too, because every time another kid sees these, they immediately have to have them.

They look incredibly real, but they are easy to use, a good size for little hands to hold, but also big enough that we can hold them easily when helping her with tough stuff like pasta and soup. The pusher is especially useful, as she learns to grip and use the fork and spoon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Innovate and fun!, July 22, 2007
This review is from: Constructive Eating Utensil Set (Baby Product)
These are genuinely fun kids utensils, unlike anything you have seen before. My personal favorite is the 'pusher', which replaces a finger to help push food onto the fork and spoon. Our kids love these, and we give them as gifts to other parents with kids that are learning to use utensils. Awesome!

Initially saw this fabulous product in Time Out New York Kids a few months ago. Kept it in the back of my mind b/c my 17-month-old son is fascinated by trucks. We've been having such a hard time getting him to eat at all, let alone use utensils. And the little interest he does take in using a fork or spoon is marred by frustration b/c most toddler utensils don't work very well. Then I remembered the Constructive Eating Utensil Set. Went online, read good reviews and decided to give it a try. When the package came, my son saw me open it and immediately wanted to play/use his new "toys." I had just tried giving him dinner within the hour; no success. I cut up some chicken (which he rarely eats) and an apple (he loves them). He immediately was able to spear the chicken with the fork and proceeded to eat an entire plate of food, by himself, clapping after each spoon- and forkful. My mouth was dropped open as was Grandma's. TOTAL SUCCESS! This product is magic. I also love that it's not made with paint and that the plastic is safe. I highly recommend it... And think it would make a great gift/stocking stuffer. Wish they would invent something similar for girls. Sometimes people gets things right. This is one of those times. Bravo!

My 20 month old granddaughter loves it. My daughter suggested it and I gave it to the baby for Valentines Day. Now her parents have to watch out because she keeps getting the set out of the dirty dish pile to play with it. Her big sister, aged 5 is jealous and wants a set too. Her mother reminds her she got a Video Camera. "Oh yea, I forgot", she said.

Love It

My 2yr old son is the pickiest eater out there but his passion for construction vehicles is even bigger so I thought I would give these a try. They have helped with getting him to try new foods and we really enjoy meal time again. Thank you so much to whoever invented these!

4.0 out of 5 stars May be a little cumbersome for small hands, December 3, 2009

The handles are long and more suited to young children than toddlers learning to feed themselves. I bought 2 sets for 2 of my grandsons specifically for the bulldozer pusher. I remember using a silver one as a child that had belonged to my father. My grandsons liked the sets, but use them no more than other children sized silverware. I was disappointed that the length of the handles made it awkward for 2-3 year olds. A simpler styled pusher, like the expensive silver ones, would be much easier for a very young child to use in learning to negotiate peas onto a fork.

Also the round handles do not fit into the kind of dishwasher basket that has a lid with slits to hold the silverware separated in an upright position.

I gave this and the construction plate to my 2yr old grandson and he loves it! Whenever my 3 yr old grandson goes to his cousin's house he tries to get it from him. I bought another one now, for the 3 yr old. He will be so excited on Christmas to see he has his own!
