Purchased this model for my 14 yo daughter for high school and she is challenged by how careful and exacting she has to put this together,no spare parts! She is able to do it herself with minimal help from her father. Younger children would need much more help, especially those that are perfectionistic and want it to look just like the picture. The directions come in several languages and are more pictoral than a written step-by-step narrative. Overall, I am quite pleased. It is a model, more than a toy.
