Dr. August has done a marvelous job of assembling chapters on the current hot topics in feline medicine. This is a valuable book for the library for all practicing veterinarians who treat cats.

Positives about this book:

Easy to read format and on the topics covered I feel there is a good level of detail and it is well referenced - i.e. if you want to find out more information the referenced texts/article titles are at the end of each chapter.

Negatives about this book:

It is not a comprehensive textbook on feline medicine, for example Hyperthyroidism is a common feline problem but the only chapter on this topic relates to the effects of Hyperthyroidism on the kidney.

I think the book is a worthwhile purchase to compliment other textbooks and has up to date information but if you are looking for a text with a good breadth of coverage of medical topics for study purposes then this is probably not the sole book to buy.

Very good book, great reading for all veterinarians. Information is updated and richly described with good illustrations. I wish everyone to buy it as a professional reading.
