From Library Journal
Anderson's experience in the real estate business as an agent, appraiser, investor, contractor, and mortgage loan officer distinguishes his book from similar guides. He does cover some familiar material with the obligatory discussions on house hunting and choosing an agent. Anderson is best when he wears his loan officer hat and walks John and Mary Homebuyer through credit checks, purchase agreements, loan applications, and a closing. A readable text is illustrated with completed forms that are sure to be appreciated by first-time buyers. A plastic envelope in the back holds some nice bonuses--amortization tables, a pamphlet on settlement costs, and a booklet on adjustable rate mortgages. This book provides a different view of a well-worn subject; public libraries will want to consider it.
