Psychotherapies effectively analyzed,

This review is from: A Consumer's Guide to Psychotherapy (Paperback)
Larry Beutler, Bruce Bongar, and Joel Shurkin have written a precise and most helpful book on various psychotherapies available. Although ostensively for the prospective client, it has proven to be a good text for teaching The Principles of Psychotherapy in my university for at least three years. Acknowledging that there are over 400 therapies to choose from, Beutler covers the 18 or so that have proven to be effective. I would liked to have had some specifics on a few therapies, but this research has proven significant enough to be cited in Worschel's book on Psychology and it places valid emphasis on transference, indicating that the relationship between therapist and client is paramount.
