Uninspired by the mindless rampant consumerism going on in the first decade of this century, the filmmakers ventured out to make a twenty minute short about the seemingly crazy pace of acquiring, spending, and Hummer driving by people everywhere. The problem was more serious than first thought....the scope of the disease demanded more attention than 20 minutes.
Consumerville The Execution of Eartha Terra" went into production in 2006 when shopping and materialism were overtaking America. The idea came when observations of everyday life were revealing that something was awry.
Of course, we all soon found out the problem existed at every level of society. Government, corporations, and citizens refused to live within their means. The film evolved into a 50 minute montage of music and visuals showcasing the absurd aspects of America at its insatiable best to accumulate, squander, and consume.
