Contemporary Behavior Therapy by Michael D. Spiegler and Dave C. Guevremont is a thorough overview of one of the most effective therapies known to modern psychology. It is a very well written, well organized, and easy to understand book. It breaks down and clearly demarcates all concepts related to the theoretical constructs defining this ever-important behavioral paradigm. This book is also an excellent read for anyone desiring to learn more about the cutting edge concepts operating in modern psychology today. If you are a serious student of psychology, you will not want to sell this one back.

This book is easy to read, providing a broad overview of contemporary behaviour therapy issues. Having read it cover to cover, I would recommend this book be read in conjunction with further, more detailed texts to flush out the finer details as the authors cover a number of therapy and models generally without going into much depth. However as a general introductory text, the authors have in my opinion delivered a useful package with elements of behaviour therapy successfully complimented by real-life examples of case studies and useful end-of-chapter summaries. The textbook comes with an additional student resource materials/participation worksheet booklet which unfortunately I did not find useful. A good book for the undergraduate level.

I just got through using this text along with Beck's "Cognitive Therapy - basics and beyond." This is an informative text and gives a very broad overview of the various techniques that come under the title "Cognitive - Behavioral Therapy." If you are looking for a broad view - this would be the text, if you are looking for specific advice to apply to practice, choose another book.

I recieved this product faster than I thought, and it was in very good shape, like new! I was very pleased.

This book is very useful in providing direct links of theory to practice. The text format utilizes practice activities and case reviews which allow for a clearer understanding of how behavioral techniques are utilized through multiple venues of practice.

I did not recieve this book in time for the actual class, however they have been extremely helpful in helping me return the book for a refund! I would buy from them again!

I got the book in plenty of time, it was the cheapest and it was exactly what the distributor promised.

I never got my book. I don't blame the seller for this and I recieved a refund promptly. However, Amazon.com never notified me that my item would not be shipped and even led me to believe that it still would be shipped between 1/9-1/27 when you want to track the location of your item. So I was very dumbfounded when I didn't recieve a shipping notice by the 27th. I wish Amazon.com would notify it's members if the product cannot be shipped by the seller and not send e-mails to rate the seller or review the product when there's none to be had! It's very confusing! I just hope Amazon.com notes this for the purposes of improvement in the future.
