Country Music was infinitely superior about this time!, May 5, 2008

There is absolutely no question that, during the eighties, the decade of "new wave," "synth-pop," "We R The World," Prince, Huey Lewis, U2, and "urban cowboyz," that Country Music was infinitely superior to was passed for "popular music" then. The men didn't whine and sound like they had clothespins on their noses, and the Country Women of the eighties looked and sounded so very preferable to their "pop counterparts." Dig: Ronnie Milsap...Dwight Yokam...Clint Black...and (be still my heart!!!) The Judds. I'd put Clint's "Killin' Time," Ronnie's "Stranger In My House," Dwight's "Long White Cadillac," or Naomi & Wynonna's...most anything up against what was inflicted on us in the name of "pop music" in the eighties (and yes, that CERTAINLY - and sadly - includes what was alleged "Rock and Roll" back then, too...) Of course, "country" (notice the lower-case "C" there) is now back to whiny men and (OMG) "shrieking" women. So pick up on and treat yorself to this compilation of Eighties' Country. You'll see what I mean...
