Readability and practicality,
By A Customer
This review is from: Contemporary Earth Design: A Feng Shui Anthology (Paperback)
I appreciated that Lin does not expect anyone to use traditional feng shui techniques. She admits that hanging a flute might not relect your tastes, nor are they very decorative. The collected authors in this anthology are mindful of budget and encourage you to work with what you already have. Overall, it was an informative and enjoyable read.

Unique - Insightful,

This review is from: Contemporary Earth Design: A Feng Shui Anthology (Paperback)
Although this book is not about Jami's views and methods of Feng Shui (per say), it is an interesting way to see how different Feng Shui Master's view the process and practice of Feng Shui. And it gives you some guidelines to start your own process. What I like most, was the way it makes clear that we should find our own, individual "way of Feng Shui." Sticking a bamboo flute in a corner, if you don't like that type of decor, is not going to solve your Feng Shui problem. Not only does Feng Shui go much deeper than just the surface, decorative stuff - but your environment should relfect who you are and the items within should bring you peace and joy - how else are you going to create serenity and balance, or good chi??? All you'll be thinking about is how ugly that flute is.

Pass!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Contemporary Earth Design: A Feng Shui Anthology (Paperback)
Within the first 30 pages you find the author claiming that the beginning of Spring, the Equinox, is April 20. One sentence begins with "Aren't" and continues in fractured English. It is obvious she slept through Science and Grammar! Feng Shui has been "hot" for about 10 years in the USA. Unfortunately for the interested public, some people read three books on the subject and then claim to be an expert. Then they write their own book by rearranging the words of the books they just read. Feng Shui is much deeper than what is presented in this book. Just because it is in print in a book, newspaper, magazine, or on the Internet, does not make it true!
