I bought a few other sharpeners, and for some reason, all the ones I would get, would sharpen with a shorter tapered point.

(the best analogy I can think of is the tip of a pencil you get at a library or miniature golf coarse, where the point is too short and not like a normal pencil)

But I was pleased to see this was the first one I found that had the longer tapered point where more of the lead is exposed.

Not only that, but the motor is strong and makes a nice sharpened pencil very fast, and the motor does not slow down while sharpening, it is well qualified for the task! You can just without much effort at all, lightly push the pencil in while this machine does all the hard work, and when the tip is sharp and goes to the auto stop inside, the sharpener stops, so you don't eat up too much of the pencil until there is nothing left like on some sharpeners.

This also means you don't have to keep taking the pencil out of the sharpener to see if the point is sharp enough yet, you can FEEL and KNOW when the pencil has a perfect point, and know when it is done!

The entire inner circle that you see in the photo, you can just pull out and that is where all the shavings will be that you can empty into the trash, then just push it back in, simple and easy to use.

Had this unit for a few years now, still very happy with it, still working great.
