Format: Paperback
Spinning a well-told yarn seems as easy for Felice Picano as breathing is for the rest of us. In this latest collection of short stories, he demonstrates once again that he is a master of the genre. Did the sudden and brutal murder of an ancestor really trigger some creative spark that drives him to write ever more intriguing tales? He thinks that may be a key to the "voices" he hears, making it easier for him to write. Whether that is the case or not, we are the lucky winners, because the stories here display both the amazing breadth of his knowledge and its depth, as well. There is always a bit of mystery in each of them, and that's one of the qualities that has made his work so popular. They range from a romance from the 19th century to a couple of the best science fiction I've read, and everywhere in between. I had picked a few favorites, but that was before I got to the last adventure. It was both absorbing and chilling, and then so suddenly, extremely erotic that my emotions flew in all directions at once. Whether you are familiar with Picano's previous writing or not, this is a great read. What a pleasure to recommend this book!
