More About the Author

Arthur Kornhaber M.D. is a physician psychiatrist, researcher, medical writer, and the Founder and President of the Foundation for Grandparenting. A leading authority on the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren, and architect of many intergenerational programs that are ongoing today, he directs, since 1970, the longest ongoing grandparenting research and information project, and is the author of seven internationally recognized books and numerous articles on the topic, as well as "Spirit" (1984 St. Martin's Press, and a novel, "Rosie's Miracle," (2011 Sunstone press). Dr. Kornhaber writes articles, books, and theater pieces, "The Nanas and the Papas," (2012) and "Nonna,"(2013) to promote grandparent consciousness. He speaks widely, and appears in the media, including network morning shows (NBC, CBS etc.) to educate people of all ages about intergenerational and family issues as well as "useful" and generative aging.
Dr. Kornhaber is a Life Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and a Life Member of the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. As President of the Foundation for Grandparenting, he has consulting, teaching and partnership affiliations with many organizations and agencies including the AARP, Generations United and more.

Format: Paperback
This is a classic research-based book on grandparenting - one of the first, if not the first. The author is to be congratulated for opening up this neglected field of research. I was inspired by it to do some research myself.
