I got this book for a class. I liked the text. I thought it did a good job of summarizing the issues. The excerpts used to define the moral arguments were great. In writing the paper for the class, I had a diffucult time coming up with any other articles that were as concise as the ones used in the book. On every issue discussed Hinman did an excellent job of presenting both sides of the arguments.

I wish I has realized how much money I coud have saved years ago. I have spent a small fortune on my education, textbooks included. This is so much better. Thanks Amazon.

I used this textbook for my religion class in college and it was a good textbook. It had great details about various Contemporary Moral Issues that we face in today's society. I recommend this to anyone who is teaching or studying a class on Contemporary Moral Issues

Ethics Debates,
This review is from: Contemporary Moral Issues: Diversity and Consensus (3rd Edition) (Paperback)
This book is not an easy reader. Bought it for a class, so it has been nice to skip some sections; however you are reading articles mostly from Doctors or department heads at different universities. Terminology might be a little confusing. Very, very small print so you may want to look for a larger print edition if it is available.Topics included are: "Cloning, Abortion, Euthanasia, Punishment and Death Penalty, War Terrorism and Counterterrorism, Race and Ethnicity, Gender, Sexual Orientation, World Hunger and Poverty, Living Together with Animals, Environmental Ethics, & Cyberethics"

I used this text for an undergraduate course. The layout is good. The introduction may be easily overlooked, but it contains very valuable terminology that a reader needs to help navigate through the text. I didn't give the book four stars only because some of the later chapters ran a little long.

It had valuable information, and I wish I could get a copy of it. (I borrowed this book from my friend's father.) I had to do a research about the death penalty, and this book got me an A!!
