3.0 out of 5 stars Intro to Nutrition, August 28, 2007

This book was easy to use. I needed this book for a pre-nursing class so I didn't have a choice in wanting to buy this book. Lot of intresting facts, and well put together, my only suggestion would be to not have this book in paperback.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nutrition change, July 1, 2005
By
This review is from: Contemporary Nutrition (Paperback)
The book is good except it makes you wonder why do we bother with it since the nutritional pyramid changed anyhow. It was great to find that book covered some healthy suggestion to lower down cholesterol (like different non-hydrogenated vegetable spreads, however, SmartBalance was not included for some reason). I guess next edition will cover all the changes that happened this year. Will this edition be worth reading again?!

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent and Well-Organized Nutrition Text, August 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Contemporary Nutrition (Paperback)
We used this book for the nutrition class that I took and I liked this book because it is very well organized, and easy to read and understand. The class was using a newer edition, but this was much cheaper than the current edition and it served its purpose well.
I am not sure how much it has changed but last summer when I used it, practically all the material being lectured in class was available in the textbook.
It served as a good reference, and definitely a good value if your instructor allows you to use this older version.
The material in the book is actually interesting, and offers some good tips about nutrition.
